We are a country of abundance, yet we find ourselves unable to control our homeless population. This affects our businesses, safety, security and our economy. #1, Close our borders. Fund mobile medical teams to provide wellness care in high population areas. Use SBA, DOL & HUD to provide jobs, training and housing, and enact federal laws to prevent states from sending their homeless to Hawaii. Fully fund Law Enforcement. Our goal should be drug interdiction, mental health and nutrition care. HHS, SBA and local, state and federal government must form a partnership to make it work.
Enact legislation -- the Hawaii Hardship Relief Act, to repeal or suspend the Jones Act for immediate relief. Reduce traffic by running the rail so that it starts paying for itself. Coordinate bus routes and rail schedule under one Transportation Department umbrella. Audit federal funds for rail. I will demand auditors to investigate rail funds distribution.
We have bigger problems, and the climate change problems will go away by reducing homelessness. Go to my transportation plan regarding the rail and bus to work towards a cleaner environment for Hawaii.
