I work well with teams that support group decisions serving the needs of all students and understanding that the board sets the climate for the entire district.

My experience and commitment to the time and energy required to serve, along with knowledge about district and statewide policies, guidelines, needs, challenges, and strengths.

Overall professional, poised demeanor, respectable behavior, and respect for diverse points of view.
Student achievement has been and continues to be my top priority. Making sure our students are doing well academically, obtaining life skills, and learning how they can give back to our community. In order to address this priority, I will continue to work with my board, superintendent and staff to implement the key work of school boards, a systematic framework for the continuous academic improvement of our schools.
By fine tuning our district’s remote learning plan, identifying specific gaps not only at the district and school level but at home, and aggressively taking advantage of the myriad of funding and resources for school districts from the federal and state levels recently authorized by Congress and the New Mexico Legislature.
Getting parents to spend time in their student’s classroom, having a periodic open house and or game nights is an excellent way to get parents involved with their child’s education. This will lead to increased interest and eventually greater participation.

Also providing “Home Activities” as a positive effect on increasing parental involvement. The idea is to send home activity packs periodically throughout the year that requires the parents and child to sit down and do it together.
