Personal Biography
For most of my life, I've been a teacher, advocate, union leader, public servant, and special needs parent. I've spent years working alongside families, educators, and community members to solve problems, build relationships, and make our schools and neighborhoods stronger. I'm running because I believe government works best when it stays focused on the basics: strong public schools, safe communities, responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars, and opportunities for working families to succeed.

As a former educator, union organizer, special-needs parent, and community advocate, I understand how state policies affect everyday Kansans. I've worked with diverse groups, built coalitions, and solved problems through collaboration. I will be an accessible, accountable representative focused on results, not political theater.
Public education, affordability, and government transparency. I will support strong public schools, practical solutions that help working families, and reforms that make government more open and accountable.
Kansans deserve a transparent legislative process. I support easier bill tracking, plain-language summaries, and public notice before major amendments. "Gut and Go" should be limited so citizens have time to review significant changes before final votes.
I support secure elections and accessible voting. As an election worker, I've seen firsthand the professionalism of those who administer our elections. Any changes should be evidence-based, increase transparency, strengthen public trust, and ensure eligible Kansans can participate without unnecessary barriers.

Personal Biography
I'm a lifelong Kansan, raised on a farm in Ottawa County alongside my six younger siblings. I moved to Wichita to attend nursing school. I served in a wide variety of nursing roles throughout my long and fulfilling career, retiring in late 2020. I've lived in southeast Wichita all my adult life with the exception of 4 years in Eureka, working as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I have one daughter born with physical special needs who is married and doing well.
Community/Public Service
I've been involved in community service since my teen years, serving youth in Girl Scouts, BBBS, Youthrive, Boys & Girls Club and Pure & Simple; in community organizations serving the vulnerable; in my neighborhood association and my church. I was elected in 2022, serving as District 88 State Representative.
Education
Graduated from Minneapolis, KS HS; St. Joseph School of Nursing; WSU Family Nurse Practitioner Program; St. Mary of the Plains College with BSN and KU School of Medicine with MPH.

During my four years in the Kansas House, I learned a tremendous amount about many issues affecting Kansans and developed positive relationships with many legislators on both sides of the aisle, experts in many fields and stake-holders representing various viewpoints. I've had the opportunity to meet many constituents and hear their concerns, discuss options for a variety of solutions, address important issues in committees and develop and carry bills through the legislative process to become law.
My nursing experience of serving others, actively listening, addressing serious challenges and exploring possible solutions to difficult problems helped me as a legislator. I am a networker, matching problem solvers with those in need.
1) Property taxes - continue working with tax experts and local authorities (city, county, school district, libraries, etc.) to find a solution to stabilize assessed property values and local spending. There is no one size fits all solution for varying city sizes; flexible plan.
2) Poor student academic performance - local school district decisions and accountability to increase staff and funding in classrooms; focus on basics of reading, writing and math; consequences for poor academic performance.
3) High cost of living - support businesses to cut costs by decreasing mandated red tape and taxes to free up dollars to increase employees' paychecks; decrease income tax rate for all; cut government fraud and waste to decrease state budget.
For easier following of bills through the legislature, we need to educate Kansans about available resources and how to use them, including the online Kansas Legislature website and real-time and recordings of all committee meetings and House and Senate sessions on the legislature's YouTube channel. I could address the resources in my e-newsletters during the legislative session and in my annual newsletter to constituents.
I have not been part of the Gut and Go process except for voting on the resulting bill, which is a mandate and not optional for legislators who are present when the vote is taken. It is a legal strategy that is part of the Kansas House and Senate Rules, approved by legislators' majority vote at the beginning of each term.
Several election bills were passed into law during the 2026 legislative session. I support fair elections by Kansas citizens with proof of identity. I support a longer election cycle. Kansas currently has a 20-day election cycle from when advance ballots are mailed out to voters until election day. I also believe it's important to offer opportunities to engage voters, such as early in-person voting opportunities and mail-in advance ballots, currently due to the Election Office or polling place by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
I also support purging voter rolls of deceased voters, non-citizens and voters who have moved from Kansas and requiring advance ballots to be requested by the voter and not automatically mailed to non-requesters.
