Personal Biography After spending years at home with her own children, Mrs. Burdick jumped back into the education field in early childhood. Her experiences led her to run for public office in the hopes of better education for students, teachers, and families.

As a former employee and a parent of students in the district, I have seen the inner workings of this district. I want to help build a board of education that supports all students, all staff, and all families. I want to ensure the focus is on the human need and not the politics.
USD 266 needs to take a bigger role in the mental health of its staff and students. Part of education is meeting the base needs of students and staff, and mental health support provides safety.
I believe that civic involvement is important for students, starting at a young age. In our current climate, with a global pandemic still at the forefront of our minds, i believes there are other matters that take precedent, but this does not mean that civic involvement should not be discussed.
Providing safe mental health resources that are actionable, increasing diversity and trauma awareness and training, and developing safe spaces for students and teachers.
I do not believe that non-public schools should receive state funding.
I would need more information about what is being evaluated and how we are needing to better meet the needs of all families when it comes to bussing students.
