I have taught for over 20 years and have a wealth of educational experiences.

I believe my experience in public school on very levels along with higher ed give me a great basis on which I can assist the school district in its pursuit to move upward and onward.
Students spend a good portion of their day at school and share their struggles both at school and at home with trusted teachers. If schools have mental health assistance available students will use it.
Civic engagement is a high priority in helping students experience the world. One thing we have to keep in mind is that education happens outside of just being in the classroom. Every experience students have in volunteerism helps to shape their worldview.
For me, mental health needs to really be at the top of that list of priorities. Many students did not fair well with the pandemic and are now behind. Another priority will be getting those students with deficiencies caught up.
No matter what schools students attend their parents are paying taxes and that money should follow them. Of course, we would love for public schools to be fully funded for the students that are attending.
Busing is essential for many families and students would not be able to attend without it.
