As a longtime resident, former Mayor, and current Mayor Pro Tem/Council member, I have the most experience and knowledge of our City’s drainage/flooding, redevelop-ment, and street/sewer/water/infrastructure issues and a successful track record.
• President, Volunteer Fire Dept. • Council (1994 - 1995, 2003, 2017 - present) • Mayor Pro Tem (1995 and 2017 - present) • Mayor (1996 - 2002 and 2004 - 2012) • Organizing President/Chair, Economic Development Corporation, TIRZ, & RDA
1. Flooding: To further alleviate flooding, we need to install backup power at all storm/sanitary lifts (budgeted), complete outfall inspections, work with upstream enti-ties, and ensure detention ponds are heavily utilized.

2. Aging Infrastructure: Sewer, water line and limited street replacements are already budgeted. We also need to repair bulkheads, gravity storm drain pipes, catch basins.
I believe we must focus crime reduction efforts at the source of the most activity and will maintain support of our first responders (Police, Fire, and EMS). Given the inci-dents of crime at our apartments, I have been a vocal opponent of additional apart-ments. Short Term Rentals (STRs) have come under the microscope and are regulated at the federal/state level. We are working on our rights.
I would provide the City a new public safety/fire/police boat. The City is surrounded by water on three sides with no water-side fire suppression or fire water source. The Bay Front Towers fire highlighted this need. The balance would go towards boat ramp access to Lake Nassau, an indoor sports building providing membership to tennis and basketball courts and a banquet hall, & new park equipment.
