Natural Resources Commission
Five residents are elected to 3-year staggered terms. The Wellesley Natural Resources Commission (NRC) oversees the use, preservation, and protection of the town's parks and conservation areas. The NRC is also responsible for the Town’s public shade trees and tree-planting program. The Commission sets policies for insect control and pesticide use, and helps protect the town watershed areas. The NRC is supported by a small staff, including the Director of Natural Resources. The Wetlands Protection Committee and Trails Committee are appointed by the NRC. The NRC meets twice monthly and at other times as required.

Candidate for Re-Election
Town Meeting Member, NRC Vice Chair, Trails Committee Member, Founder Friends of Brookside
The use of our Town’s natural resources during the pandemic has skyrocketed and awakened us to nature as well as the need for environmental stewardship and preservation of outdoor spaces for public enjoyment. I am running for re-election to the Wellesley Natural Resources Commission (NRC) with the knowledge and experience to guide policy and provide balanced decision-making in these areas.
Our Town is an ecosystem, and identifying and acting on threats and opportunities is a top priority. Open space planning and educational programs are also priorities. Our natural assets provide incalculable health, economic and environmental benefits. My philosophy is simple: take care of our natural assets and they will take care of us. I hope to have your vote on March 2.
