Relevant Experience Wellesley Housing Authority 2020 Wellesley Free Library Director 1995 -2013 Town resident since 1977
WHA is undergoing a period of transition, as it moves to an independent agency no longer the auspices of Needham.

I was appointed to the Wellesley Housing Authority in June 2020 to fill a Board vacancy. I have strong management and financial skills from my years as the Wellesley Free Library Director. I understand how local and state government works and the role of a Board member.

I have enjoyed the months served on the WHA as an appointee and would like to continue to serve as an elected official. My goal is to help the WHA become a model agency in Massachusetts.

Relevant Experience BS Architecture & MBA Northeastern 30 Years Public/Private Construction 20 Year Wellesley Resident
I believe my 20 years living in Wellesley, my education and 30 years of professional commercial construction experience; if brought to the service of the Town of Wellesley and the Wellesley Housing Authority will add experience that directly relates to the mission of the Town of Wellesley and the Wellesley Housing Authority. I believe strongly in helping people in need and support 2018 Wellesley Housing Production Plan. 1) Protect the single-family neighborhoods, while strategically locating higher density public housing and introducing modestly scalable affordable units. 2) Improve the environmental sustainability of existing and new WHA units. 3) Develop a Town of Wellesley Community Land Trust Strategy
Relevant Experience 12 year Community Activist, Tenant Org VP, WHA Re- Development Committee, Wellesley Int.Wom.Day Cmm
I am a wife and hard-working mother of a blended African American/Puerto-Rican family of 7 children. A 12-year resident of WHA, I am running for WHA Board commisioner because service & community advocacy are my passion. I have experience working with both residents, management, and maintenance, attending board meetings, building relationships, and presenting my ideas and suggestions to improve residential life, while upholding State guidelines. Highlights of my experience: 2016- Elected VP of Barton Tenant Association,2018-Appointed by WHA exec. dir. to Barton re-development committee,2020- Distr. of food donations and starting a Community Fridge Proposal. I want to rebuild the trust and relationships of households under WHA. I'm well suited for this position. Vote for Odessa Sanchez .
