My priorities will squarely focus on ensuring governmental accountability, tackling our housing shortage through market-driven solutions, and advocating for fiscal conservatism to ensure efficient use of taxpayer dollars. I plan to upgrade our infrastructure judiciously, where it's most needed, to support economic growth and community well-being. I'll work to bolster local businesses—the backbone of our economy—promote family values, and implement effective strategies to enhance public safety. My vision is a government that serves, not hinders, with policies that reflect the values and needs of our community.
A healthy economy starts with supporting our local businesses and reducing governmental overreach. I aim to collaborate with business leaders to cut red tape and eliminate unnecessary regulations that stifle growth. By prioritizing local workers, we ensure that the benefits of economic growth are felt within our community first. My commitment is to policies that incentivize innovation and entrepreneurship, ensuring Vigo County is a place where businesses can thrive and contribute to our collective prosperity.
I can categorically state that there are no conflicts of interest that would impede my ability to serve with integrity and dedication if elected. My commitment to the people of Vigo County is unwavering, and I pledge to perform my duties with the highest level of transparency and ethical standards.
The principle of fairness dictates that we reassess the widespread use of tax abatements and other forms of business subsidies. As property values rise, it's only equitable that all businesses contribute their fair share to our community, just as our small businesses and hardworking residents do. My approach to subsidies will be based on a clear, conservative criterion: does it promote self-reliance, economic growth, and benefit the broader community? If a subsidy does not meet these standards, I will not support it. We must ensure that our tax policies promote fairness and do not unduly burden our residents while holding subsidized projects accountable for their promises to our community.

Every job or line of employment has a basic task, but the job of a public servant goes beyond those basic tasks. Setting county policies, adopting and implementing laws and carrying out day to day operations of the county are all duties of a county commissioner. County roads, highways, bridges, contracts and progress are all priorities. Priority number one is representing all the citizens of Vigo County. Not simply as an elected official but as someone they know will be transparent, accessible and always putting all citizens of Vigo County first. Progress, development and growth are all wonderful things when they're beneficial and figuring out how those things can be beneficial to everyone is a main priority.

A healthy economy thrives when unemployment is low, housing is affordable and local businesses and infrastructure prosper. Supporting new and existing local businesses and making it affordable for them to operate. Food trucks, markets, retail, recreation, commercial, industrial and residential opportunities. A healthy economy isn't simply an economic state, it's an investment in the community as a whole.

Subsidies, tax abatements and or exemptions are a great incentive for businesses, organizations or individuals to lessen their economic burden, but they have to benefit more than just those receiving them. For example, childcare incentives offered from businesses or employers receiving aid in the form of subsidies or abatements benefit both the business and the community. Supporting aid or relief to businesses is beneficial when that aid also directly supports the community. Expansion and development is progress, but progress comes at a price, and we have to make sure that price isn't just passed on to the consumers and citizens of Vigo County.
