Increasing Economic Opportunity - Out of the 100 largest metro areas, we have the worst economic opportunity of all. We need to stop giving away tax breaks and subsidies to out of town companies and developers and keep our support local.

Long-term protection of our Lakes - The problems with Skaneateles and Otisco Lakes are due to a lack of a comprehensive, long-term plan by the County and City. We must develop and manage a plan to ensure the highway departments, environmental entities, agricultural regulators, zoning, health department and other agencies work together to keep our water pure.

Reliable Internet - doesn't exist for many families, farmers, and small businesspeople in rural areas. We must come up with creative and cost-effective solutions to ensure all our residents can get access to the internet.
We need people in office who actually care about our citizens. That caring starts with showing up to work every day.

Far too often, our Legislators don't even bother to go to work.

Research conclusively demonstrates helping people find long-term, good-paying jobs is the best way to move people out of poverty. We have the worst economic opportunity among the nation's largest metro areas for one reason - failed political leadership that doesn't even bother to show up to work for us.

We have everything we need to build a strong, vibrant economy here in Onondaga County. Hard-working, industrious people, a low cost of living, many empty buildings, cheap commercial and industrial electricity, a great research university and other excellent universities. Yet other areas in New York are doing far better than we are.
