I am a native of central New York, a graduate of Jamesville-Dewitt High school, Cornell University and Syracuse University College of Law. As an attorney who has represented people in Surrogate’s Court for 18 years, I have unique experience in handling the sensitive matters that regularly arise there. I have dedicated myself to assisting clients through difficult times including legal proceedings to address issues involving death, guardianships, disabilities, aging, estates and other personal matters that arise in Surrogate’s Court. I have been a dedicated member of my community acting as the President of Community Library at Dewitt and Jamesville, the President of the Dewitt Food Pantry, Inc., and the former President of the Friends of Jowonio Board. I consider this experience invaluable and it is my understanding that I am uniquely qualified as the only candidate that has practiced in Surrogate’s Court for nearly two decades.

Education Bachelor's Degree in Public Justice and Psychology from SUNY Oswego, Juris Doctorate from Syracuse University College of Law, Cum Laude
I have practiced law for over 25 years. I first served as an Assistant District Attorney. I was then a partner in private practice for 11 years where I appeared in Surrogate's Court on many matters, including the probate of wills, the handling of contested estate and trust matters and guardianships. For the last 13 years, I have served as a Confidential Law Clerk for a Supreme Court Justice. Supreme Court oversees all civil matters, including cases also handled in Surrogate's Court, such as wrongful death settlements and guardianships. I research the law, draft opinions, deal with attorneys in conferences and in the courtroom and am familiar with and fully understand the court system. I will bring a unique perspective to the bench having been both a practicing attorney in Surrogate's Court and having worked in the court system. I am also a member of the Geddes Ethics Board and the Attorney Grievance Committee, which hears attorney disciplinary matters . logo
