The terms of board members Debbie Bernauer and Mark Jantzen expire in December 2017, and they are not running again. Kathleen Mack (current president) remains on the board; the terms of Mark Dosen (vice president) and Michael Ziegler expire in December 2019.The Brecksville-Broadview Heights Board of Education has the dual responsibility to implement statutory requirements pertaining to public education and to consider the needs of the citizens. While the board has an obligation to determine and assess citizen needs, the board has the authority to exercise its best judgment in determining policies, making decisions, and approving procedures for carrying out the responsibility.
