Ballot language: A renewal of 1 mill and an increase of 0.5 mill to constitute a tax for the benefit of the Brooklyn City School District for the purpose of general permanent improvements at a rate not exceeding 1.5 mills for each $1 of valuation, which amounts to 15 cents for each $100 of valuation, for five years, commencing in 2017, first due in calendar year 2018.A YES vote approves the property tax levy renewal and increase.A NO vote is against the property tax levy renewal and increase.A majority affirmative vote is required for passage.LEAGUE EXPLANATION: This levy renewal and increase would pay for general improvements to Brooklyn High School. The increase itself would amount to an additional $17.50 in property tax for the owner of a $100,00 home.
