Experience (300 characters max) I'm the current Commissioner for Position 3 for the Port of Shelton, since Jan, 2014.
I have really enjoyed being a Port of Shelton Commissioner - I find it interesting, challenging, and rewarding. The wheels of government move very slowly, and things take a long time to get done. There are exciting things happening in Shelton, and the Port can, and should, be a part of them!
1.) The South dock of the Oakland Bay Marina needs replacing. It is unsafe and poses a liability risk to the Port. 2.) Several of our tenants need more space, so we need to consider building something. 3.) We need to prepare the old fairgrounds site for new tenants.

Just that we continue to spend taxpayer dollars wisely and frugally to maximize the assets we own. We need to protect the airport from encroachment, maximize the ground use at the John Prairie Industrial area to make it attractive to new companies that can bring in jobs, and protect and enhance Oakland Bay Marina so it can be an asset to the community, as well as complement the working waterfront. logo
