I worked fifteen years as an employee at Forks Community Hospital. During this time I got to know the people of this community and realized the spirit and caring they had for one another and how important a part the hospital played within the dynamic. Those characteristics encouraged me to become an active member of the community.
The three major issues facing the hospital are individual payment options, attracting qualified medical practitioners to establish a practice in Forks and remain a permanent part of the community, and how the health care group and the community can form a partnership to advance medical care in the future.
Health care financing is front and center. What is the federal government going to do? Are we changing the entire system to a single payer or are we going to maintain some form of a private insurance system with consistently increasing high monthly costs and high deductibles. Our current system may be a slippery slope to disaster.
I have over forty years of experience in a variety of health care situations and I was lucky enough to be able to obtain the education necessary to assist me in analyzing and finding solutions to problems facing our industry. I am totally committed to maintaining Forks Community Hospial as an independent entity free from commitments to an outside agency whose only interest is financial profit. A community owned and based system is the most efficient and dependable method of providing individual based medical care in a small community. logo
