Relevant Experience Former State Representative, School Committee member and Town Meeting member in Framingham
Nobscot and Saxonville are two unique, desirable places to live. As we transition to a city form of government I expect to see Framingham become even more neighborhood-focused as priorities specific to each area become the priorities of the district councilors, elected to advocate for their constituents. Ongoing problems such as blight will not linger for years as a more efficient, proactive government emerges. This is the beginning of great things to come!
If I am fortunate to be elected as District 2 City Councilor, I plan to work on behalf of District 2 in key areas: 1. Protect essential funding for our Public Schools, Public Safety, Public Library and Senior Citizen Services 2. Support small businesses in Nobscot and Saxonville so that they can succeed, create jobs and provide services to our neighborhood 3. Work with our new Mayor, adjacent District Council members and neighborhood groups to revitalize our neighborhoods and address blight
As State Rep. I handled hundreds of constituent service requests each month, answering phone calls and emails from people in my district. I plan to provide the same level of service as District 2 Councilor.
As your former State Representative (2006-2010), former School Committee member (2003-2006) and former Town Meeting member (2001-2003) I have proven to Framingham that I provide the hard work and commitment our community needs and deserves. I am proud of my record of achievements. As a School Committee member and as State Representative, in collaboration with other community leaders I accomplished the following: • Secured a $12.9 million earmark in the Life Sciences Bill for infrastructure improvements in the Framingham Technology Park • Fought for the revised Chapter 70 Education formula which lead to a 22% increase in school funding for Framingham • Secured a 15% increase in overall state aid for Framingham • Secured a legislative change to allow for the re-construction of Bowditch Field Athletic Complex ----- My husband Peter and I and our two sons have lived in our home in District 2 for 21 years. As a graduate of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, Mt. Ida College, Framingham State University and Northeastern University School of Law (’17) I have lived in the Metrowest area my whole life. It would be an honor to serve as District 2 City Councilor and I would be grateful for the opportunity to work with the residents of District 2 on issues which will strengthen our community.
