Biographical Information

New Jersey has some of the highest property taxes in the nation. What, if anything, do you propose to lower property taxes?

New Jersey's state pension system has recently been named the worst-funded state retirement plan in the country and is arguably one of our largest financial problems. How do you propose to address our state's pension issues?

How can New Jersey meet our energy needs while protecting our environment? For example, would you support energy conservation, expansion of renewable energy projects, hydraulic fracturing, and pipelines, etc?

What would you do to promote job growth in our state?

Please indicate three additional state priority issues for you (not already listed in this questionnaire) and explain how you would address them.

We need to encourage regionalization where possible and provide incentives for counties and municipalities to share services.
We need to prevent governors from raiding the pension fund and ensure that we meet our financial obligation to the pension as agreed to legislatively.
New Jersey can responsibly address energy needs by investing in green jobs and renewable energy opportunities, expand solar and wind fields and examine harvesting tide along the coast.
We need to address the state's "brain drain" and attract young professionals to New Jersey. Addressing student loan debt (including allowing young adults to refinance debt) is critical, as well as expanding eligibility for first time home buyer benefits and incentives.
We must address school funding and ensure that every district is fully funded according to the formula.

We must do all that we can to assist veterans (both those who are aging and those transitioning into the civilian workforce) and keep senior citizens in New Jersey near family/friends.

We must remain focused on school security and student safety. This not only includes securing our buildings but also ensuring that students are safe on our college and university campuses.
