My approach is encapsulated by President Lincoln‘s statement: “The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do...or can not, so well do, for themselves - in their...individual capacities.” Some local examples of how this approach can be applied include: 100% Green Energy w/ Community Choice Aggregation; Improving Croton Point Ave; Stimulating investment with mixed use zoning; and protecting open space.
Rents in our community have been rising faster than the rate of inflation. I support preserving existing affordable housing by expanding coverage under the Emergency Tenant Protection Act and creating new affordable housing by requiring affordable units in new housing developments, as envisioned by the county‘s model ordinance.

Some issues facing Croton are fiscal sustainability, maintaining infrastructure & continued efforts to improve on energy efficiency. We will continue to work with our Fiscal Sustainability Committee to seek opportunities to improve the Village's fiscal outlook. We have implemented a debt & fund balance policy that will decrease the Village's debt and provide for reserves. We will continue to make prudent improvements to our infrastructure to provide our residents with necessary services.
The Village of Croton has and will continue to seek opportunities for developing affordable housing. Many such units have been built in Croton, & with any new development or re-development, we will explore further opportunities to provide affordable housing. Keeping taxes low and working on fiscal sustainability is also key to maintaining affordability on all levels of housing. I will continue to work aggressively on these issues to maintain affordability for our current & future residents. logo
