SB 1102: Facilities use for after school tutors. I am opposed to this legislation because I think it is a safety issue for students if we are allowing one-on-one access to our students by an adult that may not be background checked nor part of a monitored before or after school program. I am uncomfortable with one-on-one unsupervised student access.
1. Poverty and Special Needs Students.
2. Gender Equity in STEM and CTE training.
3. English as a 2nd language learners.
We need to:
a. identify, on a student-by-student basis, who needs which resources;
b. devise ways to make all students aware of their options regarding their education;
c. encourage involvement of each student's support units (counselors, family, guardians, etc.) and,
d. understand what steps are needed to engage each student personally in their educational success.
