What training, experience and characteristics qualify you for this position?
My experience as a pastor, community leader, and real estate professional has prepared me to serve on the Harris Central Appraisal District Board. I have led organizations, managed budgets and facilities, and worked with people from diverse backgrounds. As a real estate professional, I understand how property values and appraisals affect homeowners, businesses, and communities. I bring a practical, service-focused approach centered on transparency, accountability, clear communication, and respect for taxpayers. I believe HCAD should be accessible, efficient, and responsive to the public it serves.
What are the two (2) most pressing issues that you will face in the office that you seek? Describe your "specific" plans/ideas for addressing these issues.
The two most pressing issues are transparency and consistency. First, property owners need clearer explanations of how values are determined and how to navigate protests and appeals. I will push for simpler notices, better online tools, and stronger public communication. Second, HCAD must ensure appraisal practices are fair, consistent, and accountable across communities. I will support regular performance reviews, stronger quality-control measures, staff training, and the responsible use of technology to identify inconsistencies. My goal is a system that is easier to understand, more efficient, and more responsive to taxpayers.
