What are the top three challenges facing our country today and what do you propose to address them?

Challenge #1: Economic Inequality and the Crisis of Affordability: Trump's tax cuts & fiscal policies favor billionaires and large corporations over working families. I'd undo as much as possible of the mess Trump and MAGA Republicans have made. Challenge #2: Erosion of Civil and Democratic Rights: Trump's lawless actions threaten minority rights, weaken environmental laws & undermine democracy. I'd overturn all he has done to turn the clock back to the bad old days. Challenge #3: The Disappearance of Ethical Norms in a Culture of Corruption: Trump hires the worst, least qualified & most unscrupulous officials while enriching himself & his inner circle by billions of dollars. I would kick these crooks out of office and put them all in jail.

What changes would you make to the federal immigration enforcement practices to ensure all residents are treated with dignity, civilian’s constitutional rights are protected, and people’s rights to free speech, assembly, and civic participation are not violated?

Give people the right to sue federal agents for constitutional violations, require visible ID and body cameras, ban masked enforcement & create an independent oversight body with real enforcement power. Require judicial (not just administrative) warrants for home entries, expand access to legal counsel and immigration judges & restore courts' authority to review detention & removal decisions. Bar ICE from surveilling peaceful protesters or using voter/FAFSA data for enforcement & protect schools, hospitals, courthouses & houses of worship from enforcement actions. Distinguish by statute between genuine public-safety threats and civil violations that don't warrant detention & limit local police deputization agreements that erode trust.

What three Congressional actions will you support to protect, preserve, and enhance America’s democracy and why?

Tighten the Impoundment Control Act so a president can't simply withhold or redirect appropriated funds without congressional sign-off & condition future appropriations bills on specific behavioral requirements.

Amend the National Emergencies Act so that a presidentially declared emergency & the special statutory powers it unlocks automatically expire after 30 days without an affirmative congressional vote, rather than requiring Congress to act to end it.

Pass a law to strengthen inspector general protections so watchdogs can't be removed without cause or notice, use subpoena & contempt powers more assertively when the executive branch withholds documents or testimony, & let individuals sue federal officials for constitution violations.

What will you do to combat the underlying issues driving the inflation rate such as the rising costs of housing, childcare, energy, and groceries?

Create a true universal public childcare system. Implement public ownership of some housing, energy & food infrastructure. Initiate national rent control paired with massive public housing expansion. Greatly strengthen sectoral bargaining & labor union power to shift pricing power away from concentrated firms. Create public grocery stores or staple-food price controls in highly concentrated markets. Build large-scale social housing & community land trusts. Make childcare, housing & utilities core parts of industrial policy rather than side programs. Fund weatherization, efficiency & transmission upgrades to lower utility bills. Strengthen antitrust enforcement in groceries and energy to reduce concentration & hidden markups.

How do you see Congress fulfilling its constitutionally mandated role as a check on the President and Executive Branch’s power and what additional steps will you propose?

Attach clear limits to spending bills to prevent the executive branch from shifting funds without congressional approval. Pass the REINS Act (Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny) requiring Congress to vote on major administrative regulations before they take effect. Pass the Protecting Our Democracy Act limiting the president's use of "acting" officials & strengthening enforcement of congressional subpoenas. Amend the National Emergencies Act to require that Congress vote & approve an emergency declaration within a set time frame. Hire more investigators and experts to oversee agencies in order to find & stop executive overreach. Codify civil service protections of federal workers from politically motivated firings.

What are the top three challenges facing our country today and what do you propose to address them?

We have a "leader" who is undermining the "United" part of United States, causing division & stoking hate instead of bring folks together to build our country forward. Our heritage of immigration has been attacked with blame on immigrants for perceived problems in economy/cost of living-any support/assistances to needy. Taxes now support Iran war and ICE-all else slashed-stop funding on both. Political scapegoating is preventing solutions. Standing up to this dictator is long overdue. Say no to war on Greenland, release all Epstein files to out perpetrators-stop protecting them. Climate change is real & mitigation necessary for safety & resource efficiency-not continuing fossil fuel consumption/pollution-China is already leading on this.

What changes would you make to the federal immigration enforcement practices to ensure all residents are treated with dignity, civilian’s constitutional rights are protected, and people’s rights to free speech, assembly, and civic participation are not violated?

First, abolish ICE as it is today. I stated this on my Issues platform back in 2018 when no other candidates were addressing the potential abuse we see realized today. America under Donald Trump has embraced a Nazi gestapo model of profiling and arbitrarily rounding up a 3000 per day quota. Not funding the budget lines for ICE (and the Pentagon's Iran war agenda) effectively stops these abuses in their tracks. Due process has been thrown aside and law-abiding noncitizens are being detained when keeping their required appointments. Deportation to Third World countries is expensive & criminal. I have personal connection to victims of these atrocities. The government purchases of more warehouses to detain upwards of 10,000 (Utah) must stop.

What three Congressional actions will you support to protect, preserve, and enhance America’s democracy and why?

Congress is supposed to control the purse. Trump's slash and burn of our nation's services has now undermined our future. These dismantlings aren't about "saving money." Defunding federal support for schools has caused local taxes to skyrocket. Folks are hit with thousands in increases. Social services assisting housing and food insecurity-slashed. Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP & Social Security are fair game-not protected. But Pentagon war$ and ICE expenditures are intact. The Power of the Purse Act is a step in the right direction. But we are still at the mercy of a leader on his own agenda, not ours. "Protecting Our Democracy Act" & earlier suggested, expanding the number of Supreme Court judges. Our privacy/personal data has been compromised

What will you do to combat the underlying issues driving the inflation rate such as the rising costs of housing, childcare, energy, and groceries?

Currently, Trump's Iran war is directly responsible for jacking up gas prices that in turn increase costs of everything. Transporting food and raw goods require fuel. Fishing vessels need fuel. Aircraft delivering food and supplies to remote Alaska villages need fuel. Homes and buildings need heat in winter and cooling in hot summers. Hospitals need generator back ups for patients. No way around these givens. Limits on investment companies purchasing homes; subsidizing childcare (other countries do this), support alternative green energy development, not fossil fuel usage. Covid saw price gouging excesses. Grocery costs can be controlled via government run locations (NYC doing this) & models based on the PX system military family access.

How do you see Congress fulfilling its constitutionally mandated role as a check on the President and Executive Branch’s power and what additional steps will you propose?

We have a president who has simply ignored the parameters of the other branches, the checks &balances & made a mockery of our government. Trump does what he wants then lets everyone else try to counter the mess. The East Wing White House demolition symbolizes this pattern. We've witnessed a master manipulator in the White House enabled by supporters who have refused to confront his dysfunction. At this point, I think his health is questionable and his true status is covered up. There is a capable vice president to step in. Intimidation has been the standard and stopped the check and balance system from working. Full medical disclosure should be demanded. Our nation's safety must be in the hands of a clear thinking capable leader.

What are the top three challenges facing our country today and what do you propose to address them?

1. Our nation's survival is at stake. We must first end our aggressive military attacks on other countries, like Iran. Freedom can't survive in a topsy-turvy world where people pushing the buttons at 30,000 feet to drop the bombs are "heroes", and the poor civilians being bombed are "terrorists". 2. A strict respect for civil liberties. Empires are expensive, both in dollars and civil liberties. We must close military bases in 182 other countries before the Selective Service System starts drafting our sons and daughters to feed this war machine. 3. Restoring hope for the future among the American people. It's almost gone, but we can restore it by standing for Peace, Prosperity, and Freedom.

What changes would you make to the federal immigration enforcement practices to ensure all residents are treated with dignity, civilian’s constitutional rights are protected, and people’s rights to free speech, assembly, and civic participation are not violated?

Peaceful people should be allowed to travel freely. We need to abolish ICE and the Department of Homeland Security and bring to trial those who have committed crimes. Instead of walls, we need transparency. Financially speaking, it's expensive going door-to-door, rounding up peaceful people. We can save money by stopping it now. Our policy should make it easy to get into (and out of) this country. We need to be a beacon for those people who want a new beginning, and also for those seeking asylum from tyranny. It's important to remember that any talk of opening the border must come with an honest and serious discussion about ending the welfare state. It would be wrong to force the US taxpayer to subsidize other people's dreams.

What three Congressional actions will you support to protect, preserve, and enhance America’s democracy and why?

Democrats and Republicans have tampered with elections by controlling access to the voting booth. Usually, it's in the form of un-American and immoral ballot access laws against new parties and independents. Democrats and Republicans don't restrict who votes anymore, they just heavily restrict who can be voted for. Congressional actions I would take are: only vote to confirm judges who are pluralists and believe in easier access to the ballot; support legislation to lower the signature requirement in all states to one tenth of 1% of the number of those registered to vote; work to repeal federal campaign finance laws that limit our freedom of speech and protect incumbents by making it more difficult to run.

What will you do to combat the underlying issues driving the inflation rate such as the rising costs of housing, childcare, energy, and groceries?

(Indulge me) Recently, I went into a store in Anchorage and when I checked out, I grumbled a little about the price of my item. The person at the register commiserated with me and said, "Yes, prices have been going up because of the Straight being closed". Everybody in this country knows that shutting down that vital trade route caused inflation. The US started the war in Iran and closed that off. So, right away, electing a US Senator that will speak out and work hard to stop the war in Iran would start prices coming down. To keep inflation coming down, I would work to cut the outrageously expensive military budget.

How do you see Congress fulfilling its constitutionally mandated role as a check on the President and Executive Branch’s power and what additional steps will you propose?

The Executive Branch's power is out of control. That one man alone can decide to launch an unprovoked attack on Iran means our system has become unbalanced and unchecked. We could hope the present Congress would enforce the War Powers Act, even though it's even hard to trust a vote in Congress after the Gulf of Tonkin nonsense and the fact that we have had invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as unending bombings of Venezuela, Syria, Nigeria, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, etc. In Alaska, we need new leadership in the US Senate. Senators that will vote against the Long War, not follow along with it and dutifully obey the Generals. We need civilian control of the military, not militarists controlling the purse strings of Congress.

What are the top three challenges facing our country today and what do you propose to address them?

The top three challenges are our massive national debt, unaffordable healthcare, and border security. As a proud Wasilla mom of four running for one term in the U.S. Senate, I focus on practical fixes for Alaska families. 1. Debt (> $39.6T): Cut waste, reform entitlements responsibly, grow economy via energy & less regulation. 2. Healthcare: Increase transparency/competition, tort reform, AI innovation to lower costs while protecting the vulnerable. 3. Immigration: Secure borders with tech/enforcement, E-Verify, deport criminals, merit-based legal system with assimilation. These hit Alaska hard on costs, schools & veterans. Pledges: one term only; donate surplus + first two years salary to Mat-Su schools/veterans. Alaska First!

What changes would you make to the federal immigration enforcement practices to ensure all residents are treated with dignity, civilian’s constitutional rights are protected, and people’s rights to free speech, assembly, and civic participation are not violated?

Changes I propose: • Prioritize criminals, gangs, and recent illegal entrants over long-term residents. • Ensure humane conditions, medical care, and timely due process hearings. • Require body cams, training on rights, and oversight to prevent abuse or politicized targeting. • Mandate E-Verify and full local-federal cooperation on public safety. • Reform to secure borders with tech, merit-based legal immigration, and assimilation focus. Rule of law and dignity go together. No sanctuary policies that undermine safety. These steps protect Alaska families while respecting the Constitution.

What three Congressional actions will you support to protect, preserve, and enhance America’s democracy and why?

Three Congressional actions: 1. Term limits for Congress — End career politicians. Why? Fresh perspectives and real accountability for families. 2. Election integrity reforms — Voter ID, paper ballots, audits. Why? Secure elections build public confidence. 3. Ethics/transparency reforms — Ban stock trading, full disclosures, limit dark money. Why? Government must serve people, not insiders. I lead by example: donate surplus funds + first two years’ salary to Mat-Su schools/veterans. These protect democracy for Alaska and America.

What will you do to combat the underlying issues driving the inflation rate such as the rising costs of housing, childcare, energy, and groceries?

As a Wasilla mom of four, I know inflation in housing, childcare, energy, and groceries is crushing families. Root causes: excessive spending, regulation, and energy limits. My plan in Congress: • Cut waste and reform entitlements to tame deficit-driven inflation. • Boost domestic energy (oil/gas/nuclear)—Alaska leads to lower costs. • Deregulate housing for more supply; expand pro-family tax relief for childcare/groceries. • Strengthen supply chains without growing government. One-term only; I’ll donate surplus + first two years’ salary to Mat-Su schools/veterans. Practical, Alaska First solutions for lower costs and stronger families.

How do you see Congress fulfilling its constitutionally mandated role as a check on the President and Executive Branch’s power and what additional steps will you propose?

As a proud Wasilla mom running one term only, Congress must act as a strong constitutional check on the President and Executive Branch. How: • Rigorous oversight hearings and investigations. • Use power of the purse to control spending and block overreach. Additional steps: • Strengthen subpoena enforcement and faster oversight rules. • Support congressional term limits to keep members accountable. I’ll lead with transparency and my pledge to donate surplus funds + first two years’ salary to Mat-Su schools/veterans. This protects liberty, states’ rights, and Alaska families from federal overreach.

What are the top three challenges facing our country today and what do you propose to address them?

1. Restore and Perfect our democracy. 2. Healthcare for All. 3. Affordability.

1. The power of We the People needs to be respected with due process for each person. Enact the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. Hold the administration accountable for its unconstitutional, illegal actions and for using the Presidency to enrich the President, his family, his billionaire friends and the trillionaire and not for the people of our country.

2. Single payer Healthcare for ALL like every other developed nation.

3. Affordable food, housing, utilities, education, and childcare. Ending endless wars and providing for the needs of our people.

What changes would you make to the federal immigration enforcement practices to ensure all residents are treated with dignity, civilian’s constitutional rights are protected, and people’s rights to free speech, assembly, and civic participation are not violated?

Abolish ICE which is killing US citizens and detaining over 10,000 people under poor conditions including many people who have been contributing members of our communities for decades. Abolish the detention centers.

Due process for all as guaranteed in our constitution.

Respect the rights of each person for free speech and to protest. Do not have lists of people who are protesting the illegal actions of our government.

Make it illegal to stop people based on how they look, talk, or the jobs they are doing.

What three Congressional actions will you support to protect, preserve, and enhance America’s democracy and why?

1. If the House impeaches the President and this administration, convict in the Senate for their illegal, unconstitutional actions.

2. Enact the John Lewis Voting Rights Act since the 1965 Voting Rights Act has been gutted. Each person deserves fair representation. We have gone backwards over 60 years in Civil Rights. Diversity is our strength in Alaska and in our country.

3. Establish a path to citizenship for dreamers and for people that have been in our country working for years and contributing to our economy and nation. We became a great nation by welcoming immigrants and they have contributed to our country. We must develop a fair immigration system that respects the dignity of each person.

What will you do to combat the underlying issues driving the inflation rate such as the rising costs of housing, childcare, energy, and groceries?

Stop endless wars and the domination of the military industrial complex in our country and around the world causing much suffering and loss of lives.

Eliminate funding for ICE.

Decrease the domination of healthcare by the pharmaceutical industry.

Develop jobs for many of the people who are unemployed or underemployed.

Increased use of renewable resources for the sake of our planet and for all of us living on it.

How do you see Congress fulfilling its constitutionally mandated role as a check on the President and Executive Branch’s power and what additional steps will you propose?

Impeach and convict the President and this administration.

Expand the Supreme Court.

Enforce that the President and their administration do not use the office for their own enrichment.

Hold the President and Executive Branch responsible if they do not follow Judicial Orders.

No stock trades nor money made from crypto or other currency.

The President and the Executive Branch must work for We the People. If not, we must remove them from office and have people that work for all of us not just the billionaires, the trillionaire, multinational corporations, and the military industrial complex.
