I possess a very specialized skill set. I am a tax preparation expert. I have been working in the field of tax preparation for over 24 years. Having a deep knowledge of tax law and the effect it has on taxpayers daily lives makes me the most experienced and effective candidate running for the office of mayor for Kingsport. I will ask this question before any decision. "How will this issue affect the tax paying citizens and at what cost?" That question will have to be answered to my satisfaction before I cast a vote for or against the issue. The citizens of Kingsport can rest assured in the knowledge that I will make sure they are always put first. I fully understand the burden taxes have on citizens daily lives.

The recent historical property tax increase has caused a burden on many citizens in the city of Kingsport. To ease this burden I want to push forward with an ordinance that states:

"Any citizen, within the city limits of Kingsport, age 70 or 65 (if a veteran) will have their residential property taxes frozen at it's current amount. Then each year going forward the property tax amount will decrease from the frozen amount at a rate of 10% per year. After 10 years the citizen of Kingsport will not pay residential property taxes (on their personal residence) to the city of Kingsport."

The condition of the streets in Kingsport continues to be a problem. The solution is to use city personnel in conjunction with contractors to ramp up paving.
