What steps should the State Legislature take to ensure a quality education for students?

1. Provide adequate funding for PreK 2. Provide funding for after school tutorial programs that can close the achievement gap 3. Provide funding for capital maintenance of school buildings

What, if any, should be the role of the State Legislature in the regulation of data centers?

The state legislature should defer to local governments to provide the regulation of data centers. If local governments refuse to provide regulation there is an opportunity for the state legislature to provide regulation that mitigates environmental damage and harm to communities in close proximity of data centers.

What is something that you would like to accomplish during the next legislative session?

I would like to increase the income cap for seniors who participate in the property tax freeze program. Two years ago I passed legislation to increase the cap from $60,000 but my initial plan was $80,000.

What do you think the State Legislature should do about the affordability crisis facing Tennesseans

I believe the state legislature should provide more funding for construction of affordable housing and look for opportunities to reduce grocery cost through programs with Tennessee farmers.
