Every kid in Tennessee deserves a great public education, no matter their ZIP code. The Legislature’s priority should be strengthening the public schools that serve the vast majority of our students by investing in teachers, supporting school staff, and ensuring classrooms have the resources kids need to succeed.

We need to trust educators and local school leaders to make decisions for their communities. Teachers should have the freedom to teach, and students deserve an honest, complete education that includes the challenges and successes of our history. Book bans, political interference, and classroom micromanagement don’t improve outcomes. Let's focus on giving educators the respect, and resources they need to help every child thrive

Data centers are an important part of Tennessee’s growing economy, bringing investment, jobs, and innovation. But that growth should not come at the expense of taxpayers, local communities, or our natural resources. The Legislature should establish clear, common-sense standards to ensure these facilities are developed responsibly and transparently.

Local communities understand their own needs best and should have a meaningful role in decisions that impact their power grids, water supply, roads, and neighborhoods. The state’s role should be providing a framework that protects consumers, the environment, and local economies.

Gun violence prevention. Tennesseans deserve leaders willing to have honest conversations and take meaningful action to prevent tragedies before they happen. That means protecting the rights of responsible gun owners while taking steps to keep firearms out of the hands of people who pose a danger to themselves or others. It also means investing in mental health services, supporting our schools, and funding violence prevention programs. We deserve real solutions that make our communities safer.

Tackling our housing crisis by building smarter, improving transportation options, and creating incentives for homes that working families can actually afford. We can reduce everyday costs by eliminating the grocery tax and raising the minimum wage to at least $15 an hour. Tennesseans work hard, and we deserve an economy where we can afford to raise our families and thrive.
