Why are you running for this office?
I'm running because I love Farragut and want to help guide its future. My family has lived here for 14 years, our children attended Farragut schools, and we've invested our lives in this community. As a retired Air Force officer, I've spent my career solving problems, planning for the future, and serving others. Farragut faces important decisions about growth, traffic, and infrastructure, and I believe we need thoughtful, community-driven leadership to address those challenges while preserving the character and quality of life that make Farragut such a special place. That's why I'm running—to help ensure Farragut remains a place we're proud to call home.
How has your background prepared you to serve in this office?
My background has prepared me to serve through leadership, strategic planning, and community involvement.
During my Air Force career, I held positions that required balancing complex issues, managing resources, and working with diverse groups to achieve common goals. On September 11, 2001, I was serving at the Air National Guard Bureau in Washington, D.C., where I witnessed firsthand the importance of leadership, coordination, and calm decision-making during a national crisis.
Closer to home, I've served on my HOA board and have been a member of the Farragut Parks and Athletics Council for the past three years. Combined with 14 years as a Farragut resident, raising three children through our schools, and active involvement in our community,
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
An Alderman's primary responsibilities are to represent residents, set policy, provide oversight, and plan for the future. The role is not to manage the day-to-day operations of the Town, but to listen to citizens, make sound decisions, ensure taxpayer dollars are used responsibly, and help guide Farragut's long-term direction. At its core, the job is about service, stewardship, and leadership on behalf of the community.
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
I believe my greatest strengths are leadership, collaboration, and communication. Throughout my career, I've learned how to bring people together around common goals, even when they have different viewpoints. I'm also skilled at taking complicated policies and bureaucratic language and explaining them in ways that residents can easily understand. Most importantly, I will listen, communicate openly, and work to build consensus around solutions that are in the best interest of Farragut and its residents.
What top three things will you prioritize if elected to this office?
First, smart growth. Farragut is nearing build-out, which means the decisions we make today will have lasting impacts. Growth should be guided by our community plans, supported by infrastructure, and carefully balanced to protect the quality of life that residents value.
Second, traffic solutions. While there is no single fix, we need to continue investing in traffic management, signal optimization, and thoughtful planning to improve mobility and reduce congestion on our busiest corridors.
Third, supporting our local economy. I want Farragut to be a place where local businesses can succeed and thrive. Businesses are key to maintaining the high level of amenities and services residents expect—without the need for a property tax.
What are the main points you want voters to remember about you and your candidacy?
First, I am a servant leader. My career in the Air Force and my community involvement have been centered on serving others, solving problems, and putting the mission ahead of personal interests. I am running to serve Farragut, not to advance a personal agenda.
Second, I bring people together. I believe in listening to different perspectives, finding common ground, and building consensus around what's best for the community.
Third, residents deserve transparency and clear communication. Local government decisions Ougy 4 daysl] be complex, but they shouldn't be confusing. I will work to explain issues in plain language, keep residents informed, and ensure they understand how decisions affect their neighborhoods and quality of life.
