Why are you running for this office?
I was born and raised in Farragut, went to Farragut schools, and now my husband Brian and I are raising our two children here. This community shaped me, and I want my kids to inherit a Tennessee that works for families like ours. In early 2026, I watched our current representative side with political agendas over the real needs of our neighbors, and I realized that waiting for someone else to step up was not an option. I am running because District 14 deserves a representative who answers to constituents, not special interests, and who shows up, listens, and does the work. My faith calls me to serve, and this is how I am answering that call.
How has your background prepared you to serve in this office?
My path has not been traditional, and that is a strength. I spent more than a decade working in restaurants, many of those years as a front of house manager, learning every part of the operation from prep cooking to inventory to the bar. I am a first-generation college graduate with a political science degree from Maryville College, and I later earned an automotive repair and estimation certificate from Ranken Technical College in St. Louis. For the past ten years I have worked in corporate operations at a Knoxville company, in a role I built from the ground up, managing budgets, planning large-scale events, and coordinating across departments. I know how to read the numbers, ask hard questions, and deliver results.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
A state representative has one job above all others: represent the people of the district. That means being accessible, answering constituents, and voting based on what is best for the community rather than what big donors or party leadership demand. It means being a careful steward of tax dollars, reading legislation before voting on it, and being honest about what a bill actually does. It also means oversight: asking hard questions of state agencies and holding government accountable to the people who fund it. Finally, it means showing up in Nashville during session and at home in the district the rest of the year, because you cannot represent people you never talk to.
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
I am a listener first. In my career I built a role focused entirely on taking care of people, from celebrating their milestones to supporting them through funerals, illnesses, and hard seasons. That work taught me that leadership is service. I am also thorough and careful with the truth. I fact-check my own claims, I read the fine print, and I do not make promises I cannot keep. I am a problem-solver who manages budgets and complex projects for a living, so I know how to turn goals into results. And I have the work ethic of someone who earned everything the long way, as a first-generation college graduate who took a non-traditional path and never expected anything to be handed to her.
What top three things will you prioritize if elected to this office?
First, public education. Tennessee's per-pupil funding ranks near the bottom nationally, and I will fight to fully fund our public schools instead of diverting tax dollars to private school vouchers. Second, affordability. Housing costs are squeezing families across District 14, and the state should be a partner in solutions rather than blocking local communities from addressing their own needs. Third, infrastructure. The I-40/I-75 corridor through West Knoxville is critical to our daily lives and our economy, and I will push to make sure our region gets its fair share of state transportation investment and that projects reflect real community input.
What are the main points you want voters to remember about you and your candidacy?
I am from here. I grew up in Farragut, attended Farragut schools, and I am raising my family in this community. I am not a career politician, and I do not intend to become one, which is why I have pledged to support term limits. My campaign is about accountability: to facts, to taxpayers, and to the people of District 14, not to special interests. I have spent my career solving problems, managing budgets, and taking care of people, and that is exactly what I will do in Nashville. Whether you agree with me on every issue or not, you will always know where I stand, you will always get a straight answer, and you will always have a representative who listens.
