I bring a combination of real administrative experience and direct, hands-on work that aligns with the Clerk’s office. I’ve spent 40 years serving this city, managing budgets, leading teams, passing legislation, and building programs that deliver results. I’ve worked my way from administrative assistant to executive leadership, so I understand how an office runs at every level. I’m also the only active notary in this race, with four decades of experience and over a decade deputized to perform marriages. Everything this office is responsible for, I’ve done in some form throughout my career. I’m ready to lead on day one and build on what’s already working.

The office is functioning well, so my focus is not to overhaul it, but to strengthen it. That means making services faster by streamlining processes, fully cross-training staff, and expanding what can be done online. It means improving accessibility by ensuring services reach all parts of Davidson County, including exploring a satellite office in Bellevue and supporting language access. And it means increasing transparency by introducing a public dashboard with real-time performance metrics and a State of the Clerk’s Office report so residents can clearly see how the office is performing. These are practical steps that build on a strong foundation.

A fair and independent judiciary means that decisions are made based on the law and the facts, not politics, pressure, or personal influence. It requires impartiality, integrity, and a commitment to equal justice for everyone, regardless of background or status. While the Clerk’s office is not part of the judiciary, it plays an important role in supporting the legal system through accurate recordkeeping and accessible services. I believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and fairness when interacting with any part of government, and that standard should extend across the entire system.
