I feel I’m the best candidate based upon past performance, and ultimately experience. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Tusculum College, A.S. from Northeast State. I’ve raised a family here, served on the Sullivan County Commission from 2010-14, and reelected 2014-18. I am the most principled candidate and have the voting record to prove it.

I feel that Debt Obligations are the most pressing issues. Private and public debt at a healthy level is ok, but we must work diligently to pay it down, and not take on new unnecessary spending. Control debts and spending and we can achieve a lot for our County.

Professionally, I worked in the building trades for 38 years. I worked in 17 different states, seeing all walks of life. Navigating all those different tax laws made me vigilant with my finances. This should be applied to Sullivan County’s income and spending. The county owes it to its people. Personally, serving on the tax equalization board for the county was eye opening for a 3rd generation life long resident.

Affordability for the citizens of the 6th district and Sullivan County- this requires transparency in local government.

The majority of my working life has involved leadership and management positions. Positions that have allowed me opportunities to operate a business, be accountable for profit and loss, coach and develop people, create jobs through growth, and open doors to more rewarding options that ultimately led to being in healthcare the last 11 years. These opportunities, combined with belief in being a lifelong learner and certain minimum expectations of myself, led to me completing my MBA as well as becoming a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE). All of this equips me to carry out the following part of my personal mission statement: "I desire to be of service and impactful.

Through my lens, one priority is the growth of the area and pressures that come with it. This includes, traffic, infrastructure, housing, etc., and the need to keep pace. Ideally, our county government would be much more proactive here and capitalize on this growth.

With this growth public safety must also remain a priority so we must ensure that law enforcement is supported. Increasing population and corresponding housing also means ensuring that our school system is set for success. Fiscal responsibility is paramount here and relations between the county commission and the BOE.

Economic development needs more cooperation from all involved so that we can grow the tax base instead of being at the mercy of tax increases.
