What professional and personal experiences make you the best candidate for this position?
I have lived in Washington County nearly all of my life. I am a product of our community having graduated from both David Crockett High School and ETSU. I have been married to Sharon Roberts Malone for 36 years and we have 2 grown children and now 2 grandchildren. I have worked in banking for 35 years, which has offered significant business experience. Additionally, I have served our community in a variety of ways including church and numerous non-profit organizations. Having served on the Washington County Commission 7+ years, I understand the role, including its requirements and limitations.
What are the most pressing issues in the office you are seeking, and how do you plan to address them?
Balancing and navigating the challenges of population growth and inflation while maintaining our quality of life, which includes efficient local government and low taxes. Other issues include continued storm recovering, continuing to expand public water service and the John Sevier Center redevelopment.
