The Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board is responsible for setting the policies that govern the district, developing the system budget and holding the director accountable for reaching the district’s goals.Members of the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System school board are elected to four-year terms. Three or four seats are up for election on a staggered basis every even-numbered year in August.

Describe your experience or interest in education.
I have a broad educational experience with technical school, business school, medical school, and many other educational ventures.
I taught pre calc, advanced pathogenic microbiology, wheeled vehicle maintenance, among many other subjects and arenas.
I know what looks right and we will keep working hard to get there.

Candidate- Why
I am running because I believe every child deserves a safe, supported, and well funded public education system. As a veteran, mother, grandmother, educator, community advocate, and long-time Clarksville resident, I understand how important strong schools are to families and to the future of our community. I am running because students, teachers, and parents deserve leadership that listens, leads with integrity, and puts children before politics.

I am running to protect students, support and retain teachers, and strengthen our neighborhood public schools. That means advocating for safe learning environments, opposing policies that place more burden and danger on educators, supporting access to school meals, fighting for classroom resources, manageable class sizes, and making sure public schools receive the funding and accountability they deserve. I also want to expand opportunities for students and invest in youth support systems that help them succeed.
Candidate- How
I will do this by leading with principle, transparency, and accountability. I will listen to parents, teachers, students, and the community, ask hard questions, and make decisions based on what is best for children. I will use the authority of this office to speak up for public education, support educators, protect student well-being, and work toward policies that create real opportunity for every child in Montgomery County.
What is your top priority for the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System?
To protect students, support and pay teachers fairly, and fully fund public schools. Public education should expand opportunity, not limit it. That means making sure schools have the resources to provide a quality education, reduce class sizes, feed students who rely on school meals, and ensure teachers have access to essential supplies, including IEPs and special education services. Public schools should remain free, fully funded, and accessible for every child, regardless of background or circumstance, not create barriers that hold them back. We must also continue investing in programs like Grow Your Own to support teacher retention and build the next generation of educators.

How will you work to strengthen the relationship between the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and the community?
I would strengthen the relationship between CMCSS and the community by leading with transparency, communication, and partnership. That means listening to parents, students, educators, and community stakeholders, creating more opportunities for open dialogue, and building trust through respect and honest communication. I also believe strong schools are built through strong community connections, which is why I would support partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders to expand resources, support, and opportunities for students and families to succeed.
Describe your experience or interest in education.
My interest in education is rooted in a lifelong commitment to supporting students, families, and learning communities. My experience includes serving as an educator, mentor, and leader who has worked closely with the youth in both academic and community settings. I have helped prepare students, including military and civilian learners, for college coursework, and I have invested in youth development through mentorship, leadership programs, and extracurricular activities. My doctoral training further deepened my commitment to education, especially through my dissertation study on the impact of military deployment on high school students, which gave me greater insight into the academic, emotional, and social challenges students can face.

I want to get back to treating people like people. Our students and teachers are more than test scores.

I will be as transparent as possible and speak with truth and compassion.

I'm the proud son of two public school teachers, and I spent more than a decade teaching and coaching in the same district I now hope to serve on the school board. I stepped away from the classroom because I believe our board needs a perspective that has too often been missing: the voice of a teacher.
