Candidate- Why As a parent of CMCSS students, I have a personal investment in how our schools are run. The decisions made up at the top directly impact my family, our community, and our teachers. I am dedicated to being a voice for parents and teachers. My top priorities for the School Board include: safer schools, balancing the use of technology with an emphasis on fundamental skills, and ensuring the people have a transparent and accessible School Board.

What is your top priority for the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System?

My top priority for CMCSS is making sure our students and teachers feel safe at school. They should be able to walk through the school doors without fear. It is also important to include protecting their digital security. A parent shouldn't have to worry about their student's privacy and data because the school uses Educational Technology. While there are already current security measures for these areas, we can always do better.

How will you work to strengthen the relationship between the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and the community?

I believe in an open door policy with the community. If they have questions or concerns, they should be able to contact a board member and receive a response. Additionally, keeping the people updated through social media is an easy way for them to find information about developing policies, meetings, and agendas in one place without having to navigate difficult websites. I would also like to implement town halls outside of the usual School Board meetings to provide an open discussion between the community and the public officials.

Describe your experience or interest in education.

Our education system is a part of the foundation for our community. It is one of the most valuable things we can provide our children. It builds the fundamental skills they need to grow and become successful members of society.
