Candidate- Why I decided to run for the position of General Sessions and Juvenile Court Judge - Division V to ANSWER THE CALL FOR JUSTICE
Candidate- What My educational and experiential background make me uniquely qualified to serve as judge. I have a Ph.D. In Special Education with Support fields in Emotional Disturbance, Clinical Child Psychology, Counseling Psychology and family Therapy and a Law Degree (JD) from American University. My teaching, mental health, community service and extensive legal experiences enable me to understand the various factors that inter play in judicial decisions.
Candidate- How As a judge, my goals are to be fair and impartial, maintaining judicial independence, to uphold the rule of law and to provide due process to all.

In your view, what is the role of a judge in ensuring the fair treatment of all who use the court system?

The role of the judge is to be fair and impartial, maintaining judicial independence judiciary independence, to uphold the rule of law and to provide due process for all A judge must assure equal access and ensure that decisions are based on evidence and the law.

What characteristics or experiences differentiate you as a candidate for General Sessions Judge, Division I?

My unique qualifications and experiences differentiate me as a candidate because they provide knowledge and skills in education, psychology, family therapy, mental health as well as enormous community service with individuals and organizations from different backgrounds and perspectives. My legal experiences are extensive! Additionally, I have or had certifications in mediation, teaching, school psychology, counseling, etc. in addition to law.

How does the existence and application of strong public opinion associated with cases brought before you influence your approach and decision?

My approach is to listen to both sides, review the evidence presented and make a decision based upon the facts/evidence presented. Review previous sections that are related to this question.

Candidate- Why To continue to work with juveniles in our community that engage in high-risk activities and make a meaningful difference in our county by allowing me to work to solve issues while treating everyone fairly.
Candidate- What I was appointed by the County Commission to serve as Montgomery County's first Division V General Sessions and Juvenile Court Judge. I am running to keep my position and continue to serve this great county I call home.
