How will you ensure the needs of the Montgomery County community are reflected in the annual budget?
We are a very well managed county. The balance between industry, taxes and county needs are very proportionate. We look for grants to supplement smaller needs. Sometimes a larger spending item is put on hold until we have the ability to pay for it. I have been a Commissioner for 8 years. We have successfully built the Arena, rebuilt Stokes Park, rebuilt Rotary Park, and other community needs. We are building schools as fast as we can to manage the needs for them. Everything that we are approved to do is reconciled within the budget.
What infrastructure improvement projects would you prioritize to improve the day-to-day life of Clarksville residents?
The biggest complaint in Montgomery County is the road and highway infrastructure. Travel to and from work has become a massive boondoggle. If we can push the state to move faster on the state roads it would add a lot of relief to our weekday traffic.
