Why are you running for this office?
I'm running to make a better life for my little girl and all of the people of Knox county. I don't have any political ambition or agenda. And I'm not looking for a stepping stone job for the next opportunity. I want to be a open ear to the people that voted for me and against me. The county commission is no place for culture wars that have nothing to do with county business.
How has your background prepared you to serve in this office?
I have been a small business owner for over 25 years and before that I cut my teeth working on the business side of the music industry. Managing careers and deals for artists. When you run a small business you have to be innovative with every dollar. I have done very well always choosing quality of life over making more than I might need. Understanding that every transaction has real flesh and blood consequences behind them.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
To serve the will of the people that elected you. No personal agendas, no national agendas. Simply to serve the will of the people. I would never vote for or get behind something the overwhelming majority is against.
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
Listening and then get things done. I have a very small list of things in my life I have not accomplished. Some of it maybe luck but mostly it's hard work and thinking outside the box. There are always better ways to get things done.
What top three things will you prioritize if elected to this office?
1. Bring civility back to the chair I will be holding. I'm not here to spend time on symbolic proclamations or holidays. 2. We need to find where there is waste and move those funds to where they are needed. 3. All of this will help us with more money and time to work on funding roads, schools and giving our county workers a proper pay.
What are the main points you want voters to remember about you and your candidacy?
That I am here to serve the will of the people and nothing more. My door will always be open to listen to the will of the voters. I have no time to waste on silly culture wars and agendas that have nothing to do with the business of the county. I think everyone is tired of that and so I am. My opponent has already came out and said that he wants to continue with these time wasting agendas and I feel that is a shame. We can do better.
