Biographical Information

How long have you lived in Hamilton County?

I have lived in Hamilton County since 1975. For 51 years I have called this county home.

What is the greatest challenge you anticipate facing if you are elected?

Continuing to maintain the highest level of efficiency and customer service that we have installed since 2010. This office has provided a standard of excellence to every person who has come in contact with it. We have accomplished a complete overhaul of operations including major technology upgrades and this office leads the state in going to electronic service. According to CTAS, the Hamilton County Juvenile Clerk's Office was the first state court clerk's office to be fully electronic and we continue to lead in the area of technology across Tennessee. Under my leadership we have greatly improved the fiscal responsibility of this office and in my tenure we have had zero audit findings.

What characteristics do you possess and/or what life experiences have you had that make you believe that you are the most qualified person for this office?

My experience serving in this office has prepared me more than any other to continue this service. My life experiences include over 10 years in adult corrections in management positions, 16 years at Bethel Bible Village serving as the Director of Program Services, serving at risk youth, 4 years as the operations director at First Things First, and serving as your Juvenile Court Clerk since 2010. In addition I have had the honor and pleasure to serve on a variety of boards across our state including:

Children's Advocacy Center of Hamilton County (Current Board Chair) UTC Alumni Board Tennessee State Court Clerks Board Of Directors (Past President) County Officials Association of Tennessee (COAT)

I have also served as an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice at UTC for the past 36 years.
