Public Sector Experience: Planning Commissioner, City Council Member, Mayor - Town of Covington, WA 2002-2005 Planning Commissioner for Collierville, TN 2022-2025
Private Sector Experience: 40 year Business Career, AutoZone VP of Human Resources, then VP of Store Development. Expertise in Human Resources, Operations and Team Development.
What do you see as the top two issues facing this office and how do you plan to address these issues?
Shoring up public trust through transparency in government. We need to respect citizen input and respond when contacted by our residents.
Budget Prioritization: we need to go back and scrutinize every expense in the budget and determine if it is absolutely necessary. We should first prioritize Safety and Infrastructure and then determine if the tax increase voted on by the BMA can be pulled back.
How do you plan to involve citizens in the decision making process of this office?
All too often, citizen input falls on deaf ears. I will change that by ensuring that the BMA responds to citizen requests when received. I will also ensure that citizens of Collierville are given ample opportunity to comment at BMA meetings and public hearings. Finally, I will push to get more citizens on our Boards and Commissions and ensure that their recommendations are presented thoroughly to the BMA.
