What specific actions would you take to exercise Congress’s oversight authority, including appropriations, investigations, subpoenas, confirmations, legislation, and other enforcement tools, to monitor federal agencies and taxpayer spending, prevent executive overreach, and address corruption, waste, fraud, abuse, and conflicts of interest?

I would work to end the imperial presidency, slash wasteful spending, and root out corruption. Cut the military budget, close foreign bases, end all foreign military aid, and redirect funds to human needs while abolishing ICE.

Through appropriations, I would defund corporate welfare, fossil-fuel subsidies, and agency overreach. I support aggressive investigations, subpoenas, and public hearings into executive misconduct, war crimes, waste, fraud, abuse, and conflicts of interest. Impeach and convict Trump and his cabinet. Confirmations would demand strict ethics and transparency; legislation would ban stock trading by officials, strengthen whistleblower protections, expand FOIA, mandate public campaign financing and spending limits, and end revolving door corruption.

I seek structural reform to elect Congress by proportional representation and switch to a parliamentary system. Power must be decentralized and accountable to the people, not corporations or an unchecked executive.

What specific actions would you undertake to protect the constitutional system of checks and balances among the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches to uphold judicial independence, limit executive overreach and ensure that the Department of Justice and federal law enforcement agencies administer justice fairly, independently, and free from political influence of the executive branch or partisan interference?

I would vigorously defend checks and balances by ending the imperial presidency. I support impeaching and convicting any president who abuses power, and using investigations, subpoenas, and oversight hearings to hold the executive accountable.

I would legislate strict safeguards for judicial independence, including enforceable ethics rules, term limits for Supreme Court justices, and protections against political interference. For the Department of Justice and federal law enforcement, I would bar presidential influence over prosecutions, strengthen independent inspectors general, expand whistleblower protections, and ensure that the Department of Justice operates free from partisan direction. Justice must serve the people, not any president or party.

What federal legislation, economic policies, or budget priorities would you support to help Arizona families address the rising cost of living, including housing affordability, healthcare, childcare, food, energy, insurance, and the growing gap between wages and everyday expenses?

To ease Arizona families’ cost of living crisis, I would prioritize: Medicare for All to guarantee healthcare without medical debt or insurance premiums; a universal basic income funded partly by carbon and pollution taxes that reflect the true environmental cost of goods and energy; ending fossil-fuel subsidies while rapidly transitioning to affordable renewable energy (solar, wind, geothermal) to lower utility bills.

I would cut the military budget 90% and redirect those funds to housing affordability, childcare, public transit, and food security programs. Student-loan forgiveness and free public higher education would reduce debt burdens.

These steps, combined with a steady-state economy that prioritizes sustainability over endless growth, would close the wage-expense gap, make essentials affordable, and ensure Arizona families can thrive without bankrupting the planet.

What federal policies, investments, or workforce initiatives would you support to strengthen Arizona’s economy, expand good-paying jobs, support small businesses, improve workforce training and education, and promote long-term economic opportunity and financial stability for Arizona workers, families, and communities?

I would cut the military budget by 90%, end all corporate welfare and fossil fuel subsidies, and close overseas bases to eliminate the primary drivers of the national debt. These cuts would reduce deficits without touching essential services: Social Security, Medicare, veterans’ benefits, education, infrastructure, healthcare, and food assistance.

I support carbon taxes that make polluters pay the true cost of environmental damage, with revenues funding a universal basic income and renewable energy transition. Progressive tax reform should close corporate loopholes and ensure the wealthy pay their fair share.

To prevent shutdowns, I favor automatic continuing resolutions that keep essential programs fully funded, plus public campaign financing and proportional representation so Congress prioritizes people over partisan brinkmanship. An economy focused on sustainability, not endless growth or militarism, will secure long-term fiscal health while protecting Arizona communities.

What changes, if any, would you support in federal tax, spending, and budget policies to address the national debt and reduce the risk of federal government shutdowns, while protecting essential services, infrastructure, contracts, benefits, healthcare, education, and other federal programs relied upon by Arizona residents and communities?

I support major cuts to the military budget along with ending all corporate welfare and fossil fuel subsidies. This would reduce the national debt while protecting Social Security, Medicare, education, infrastructure, healthcare, and food assistance.

Carbon taxes would make large polluters pay the true environmental costs of their activities, with the revenue directed toward a universal basic income and a rapid shift to renewable energy. Progressive tax reform should close loopholes used by corporations and the wealthy, so they contribute their fair share.

To prevent government shutdowns, I favor automatic continuing resolutions that keep essential services fully funded without interruption. Public campaign financing and proportional representation would reduce the partisan brinkmanship that causes these crises. An economy focused on sustainability rather than endless growth or militarism offers the best path to long term fiscal stability and community wellbeing.

What federal immigration and border policies would you support regarding border security, immigration enforcement, asylum processing, legal immigration pathways, and oversight of federal immigration agencies such as ICE, and how would you balance public safety, due process protections, economic needs, and civil rights?

I support freedom of migration, fair trade, and human rights. I would abolish ICE, end the border wall, and reject militarized enforcement that violates civil liberties. Asylum claims must be processed promptly, humanely, and with full due process. No detention of families or children; no family separations.

I favor expanding legal pathways, including work permits not tied to a single employer, and an open, orderly immigration system that meets economic needs while protecting workers’ rights. Public safety is best served by focusing resources on actual threats, not criminalizing migration or communities.

Oversight would prioritize accountability, end racial profiling, and ensure immigration agencies respect constitutional rights. A nonviolent, humanitarian approach rooted in the Green values of social justice and nonviolence balances security, due process, economic contribution, and civil rights far better than walls, raids, or mass deportations.

What changes, if any, would you support to congressional ethics laws and rules, including stock trading restrictions, campaign finance transparency, financial disclosure requirements, lobbying rules, and measures to prevent conflicts of interest and strengthen public trust in Congress?

I support strong ethics reforms to restore public trust and end legalized corruption in Congress. Ban members of Congress and their immediate families from trading individual stocks while in office. Require full, real-time financial disclosure of all assets, income, and gifts. Strengthen lobbying rules by extending cooling-off periods, banning the revolving door between Congress and lobbyists, and requiring complete transparency of all lobbying contacts and expenditures.I advocate full public campaign financing, strict spending limits, and the elimination of corporate and dark money contributions so candidates answer to voters rather than donors. Independent ethics enforcement with real investigative power and meaningful penalties is essential. These measures, combined with proportional representation and easier ballot access, would reduce conflicts of interest, curb the influence of special interests, and make Congress accountable to the people of Arizona and the nation.
