As someone who only recently learned they were "high-functioning autistic", I've been living with an "invisible disability" my whole life and did not know it. I've had struggles fitting in, whether at school or at work, because of this.
People are attacked for how they live their lives, but they didn't choose to live that way. It doesn't matter whether it's race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or anything else - no two people will have the exact same set of circumstances to work with.
I believe I can work with my fellow Tennesseans to draw from their shared life experiences, analyze them, and create policies that bring everyone UP, instead of pushing certain people DOWN.
