Downtown Growth & Community Events — Continue finding responsible ways to support downtown, local businesses, and more family-friendly community events while keeping our budget in mind.

Roads & Infrastructure — Prioritize the roads and infrastructure that need the most attention and develop a practical plan for repairs based on available funding.

What policies and programs will you promote to enhance citizen representation and engagement in the wellbeing of our communities and the democratic process?

I will promote open, accessible communication between residents and city government through regular community meetings, opportunities for public input, and clear updates on city decisions and projects. I believe residents should have a meaningful voice in shaping our community. What are your top three priorities for the office you seek? What do you hope to accomplish?

My top three priorities are improving our streets and sidewalks, making our neighborhoods safer, and investing in our community. I want to address speeding concerns and find practical ways to make our streets safer. I also want to support our downtown and local businesses, improve our parks and public spaces, and encourage community events. Most importantly, I want to make responsible decisions with taxpayer dollars while making Galesburg a community people are proud to call home.

What essential talents, skills and experiences would you bring to your city government?

I bring a strong connection to Galesburg and a willingness to work hard for our residents. I volunteer countless hours in our community, including serving as Santa and participating in local events. These experiences have allowed me to connect with families, seniors, businesses and other volunteers. I’ve learned the importance of listening, being dependable, working with others and following through. I’m not a politician. I’m a resident who cares about Galesburg and wants to serve the people who call it home.

What policies and programs will you promote to enhance citizen representation and engagement in the wellbeing of our communities and the democratic process?

I believe residents should know what is happening in their city and feel comfortable asking questions, sharing concerns and offering ideas. I want to improve communication between the city and residents and make it easier to learn about meetings, projects and opportunities to get involved. I also want residents to feel welcome at City Council meetings and encouraged to serve on boards, committees and community projects. Good ideas come from the people who live here, and their voices should be heard.
