If re-elected to represent New York’s 50th State Senate District, my top three priorities would be to make life more affordable, continue growing the regional economy, and continue supporting public schools. Too many families are struggling with the rising costs of everyday necessities, and I will keep working to improve affordability and ensure all Central New Yorkers have the opportunity to get ahead. I also want to keep growing our economy, ensuring Central New York benefits from major investments, and making sure these investments create good-paying jobs and opportunities for working people while strengthening our manufacturing and technology sectors. I will continue fighting for our public schools and make sure they have the resources they need to provide students with a quality education.

I believe NY can address climate change while also ensuring energy remains affordable and reliable for families and businesses. My priorities include building a strong clean energy economy, investing in green jobs, reducing emissions and waste, and modernizing our electric grid so that it can meet our growing energy needs.

I also believe our transition to cleaner energy must be practical and affordable. As State Senator, I have worked to help families with their energy costs, including legislation, S1966, which would allow for automatic re-enrollment in the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP).

I also believe CNY has an important role to play in NY’s energy future. Our region has the workforce, infrastructure, and industrial experience to lead in advanced manufacturing, clean energy, and emerging technologies. I strongly support new nuclear energy generation as an important part of maintaining a reliable, low-emission electric grid and meeting growing demand.

I approach social & racial justice by ensuring fairness is built into how NY writes laws, delivers services & holds institutions accountable.

I support legislation that requires us to look at the racial impact of major policy decisions before they become law. A racial equity impact assessment, like proposed in S5282, would give legislators a better way to identify unintended disparities & address them proactively.

Racial justice must include economic opportunity. The cost of food, housing, healthcare & other necessities can place a disproportionate burden on communities that have historically faced discrimination & disinvestment. I would support efforts to identify & address disparities in food pricing & access, while investing in neighborhoods & families that have been left behind.

For me, social & racial justice is not about treating people differently—it's about making sure that our laws, institutions & economy do not create unequal barriers to opportunity.

I think NY needs to be proactive--not wait for federal protections to get weaker. This decision is a reminder that states have an important role to play in protecting fair representation & the right to vote.

I support passing the Democracy Preservation Act; we should have confidence that our elections are being shaped by NY voters, not outside interests. If the rules & maps are changing in states around us, NY shouldn’t be left without options. We need a clear, constitutional process for mid-decade redistricting when necessary to protect fair representation. We should strengthen NY’s own voting-rights protections, especially for minority voters. If federal law has a weaker baseline, NY must ensure laws protect voters from discrimination & that communities have a meaningful voice in elections.

We can’t wait for Washington to tell us how much we’re allowed to protect voting rights. NY should use our tools to make elections fair, transparent & accessible to every voter.
