EDUCATION: How do you evaluate Michigan’s current education system in terms of quality, funding, the teacher workforce and standardized testing? What changes, if any, would you propose or support?

Michigan's schools are underfunded and teachers are undervalued. I support fully funding the foundation allowance, protecting the School Aid Fund for K-12, and ensuring special education dollars actually reach students. I oppose voucher schemes that divert public money to private schools without equivalent accountability. Standardized testing should inform instruction, not replace teaching. My grandmother spent her career as a Michigan teacher; my sister is in a classroom right now. I'll fight for resources, not add to their workload.

ECONOMY: What policy initiatives do you support for residents to earn a living wage and address the overall question of affordability across Michigan?

Every worker deserves a living wage and a real shot at stability. I support protecting and expanding collective bargaining rights, prevailing wage, paid family leave, and enforcement against worker misclassification. On affordability, I'll hold utility companies accountable for unjustified rate hikes, support state investment in attainable housing, and push for lower prescription drug costs. Technological gains, from AI to automation, should benefit workers, not just shareholders.

ENVIRONMENT/ENERGY: How would you approach ensuring energy reliability, consumer affordability, and environmental protection in Michigan?

Michigan sits on 20% of the world's fresh surface water. Protecting it is non-negotiable. I support Michigan's 2040 clean energy goals while maintaining a reliable, affordable mix that includes natural gas as a bridge fuel. I oppose energy deregulation. I support the Line 5 tunnel with strict safety and environmental standards. PFAS remediation must be enforced and polluters must pay. All new energy infrastructure should be built and maintained by a union workforce.

IMMIGRATION: What is your position on due process, First Amendment, and Fourth Amendment rights for all Michigan residents, including noncitizens, and what changes, if any, would you support?

Constitutional rights - including due process, First and Fourth Amendment protections - are not conditional on citizenship status. They apply to everyone on American soil. I oppose using state resources to target immigrant communities and oppose enforcement tactics that separate families and undermine constitutional protections. Immigrant workers contribute to Michigan's economy and deserve the same workplace rights as every other worker. Comprehensive reform with a pathway to citizenship is long overdue.
