EDUCATION: How do you evaluate Michigan’s current education system in terms of quality, funding, the teacher workforce and standardized testing? What changes, if any, would you propose or support?

Michigan has made progress in education funding, but we need to make sure those investments are actually improving outcomes for students. I support strong public schools, while also believing in accountability and responsible spending.

We need to recruit and retain good teachers by improving pay, reducing unnecessary paperwork, and giving them the tools they need to succeed. I also support stronger early literacy and math programs, expanded career and technical education, and making sure schools have the resources to meet the needs of their students.

My goal is simple: better outcomes, responsible spending, strong teachers, and giving every

ECONOMY: What policy initiatives do you support for residents to earn a living wage and address the overall question of affordability across Michigan?

Affordability is one of the biggest challenges facing Michigan families. I believe people who work full-time should be able to afford a home, raise a family, and live a decent life without constantly falling behind.

I support policies that grow good-paying jobs, expand skilled trades and workforce training, lower housing costs, and reduce the burden of healthcare, childcare, and everyday expenses. I also support strengthening small businesses so they can create jobs and keep more economic activity in our communities.

ENVIRONMENT/ENERGY: How would you approach ensuring energy reliability, consumer affordability, and environmental protection in Michigan?

Michigan should lead with an energy policy that puts people, affordability, and our environment first. I support expanding clean energy, investing in modern electric infrastructure, and creating good-paying jobs through the transition to a cleaner energy economy.

We also need stronger protections for Michigan's water, air, and natural resources, while making sure working families aren't carrying the cost of that transition alone. Utility companies should be held accountable for reliability and fair rates.

IMMIGRATION: What is your position on due process, First Amendment, and Fourth Amendment rights for all Michigan residents, including noncitizens, and what changes, if any, would you support?

I believe constitutional rights belong to people, not political parties or immigration status. Due process, freedom of speech, and protection from unreasonable searches and seizures should apply to everyone in Michigan.

As a legislator, I would oppose efforts that undermine these fundamental protections and support policies that strengthen transparency, accountability, and equal treatment under the law. Law enforcement should have the tools to keep communities safe while respecting the constitutional rights of every person.
