Duties: The South Carolina House of Representatives shares responsibility with the SC Senate in making new laws, changing old laws and studying what outcome laws will have on the people in their districts and our state. Qualifications: State Representatives serve two-year terms and are considered part-time citizen legislators who are elected at-large by their district, and there are no term limits. State Representatives must be at least 21 years of age and must be a registered voter in their district.
