Will do the following: fund practical resilience measures and make sure federal agencies enforce the laws that protect people’s air, water, and health. That means holding oversight hearings, using the power of the purse to restore EPA staffing and enforcement, and pushing legislation that strengthens clean air and clean water protections while directing appropriate federal dollars to prevention and emergency preparedness.

Will also work with state and local governments to make assistance more local and accessible by listening to communities, and securing grants for infrastructure upgrades, public health programs, and clean energy jobs. Investment in clean and renewable energy is a national security imperative and the path to prevention.

Focus on supporting small businesses, investing in infrastructure, building a skilled workforce, and driving innovation. -Lower costs by making the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction permanent and creating emergency support programs for businesses impacted by major construction projects. -Prioritize infrastructure investments and funding for local bridges and water systems to improve connectivity and attract new investment. -Expand workforce development by partnering with institutions like Rockland and Westchester Community Colleges to grow healthcare training programs and secure funding for vocational training centers. -Position district as a hub for innovation by supporting tax incentives for R&D and investing in vibrant downtowns.

Teachers, nurses, and first responders are priced out of the communities they serve, and too many seniors can’t downsize because there aren’t enough affordable options. That must change. Will focus on practical, bipartisan solutions to lower housing costs by increasing supply and cutting unnecessary barriers. That includes supporting legislation like the Housing for the 21st Century Act to modernize programs and speed up construction, incentivize local zoning and permitting reforms, expand tax relief for first-time and working-class homebuyers, and discourage large investors from crowding them out. Addressing this crisis requires a comprehensive approach, streamlining regulations, expanding financing options, and strengthening oversight.

I spent six years in a diplomatic role at the US Embassy in Israel, where I saw firsthand how vital the U.S.-Israel relationship is to American national security. Supporting Israel doesn’t require agreeing with every policy, it means maintaining a strong alliance while using diplomacy to address differences. This balance is essential to regional stability. The Abraham Accords and the Negev Forum show how deeper Israel-Arab cooperation can advance regional integration, economic growth, strengthen security, and improve conditions for Palestinians. In practice, a strong relationship with Israel advances peace, prosperity, and stability while allowing for principled, constructive engagement.

While I am not a constitutional scholar, I do not believe that the 14th Amendment permits ending birthright citizenship. The Amendment covers everyone “born…in the United States” and “subject to the jurisdiction thereof.” The Supreme Court has repeatedly interpreted this phrase to exclude only narrow exceptions like children of diplomats. Under current precedent, changing birthright citizenship would require a constitutional amendment, not just a new policy. I do not believe a new amendment should be passed to change this longstanding and important aspect of what it means to be American.

It is well past time we treat climate change as the National Security Crisis it is. In Congress, I will invest in our infrastructure to be more resilient, protecting homes and businesses against storms by expanding flood mitigation efforts. I will expand investment in clean energy production – solar, wind, and geothermal – to create good-paying jobs, lower utility bills, and build a more resilient, sustainable future.

For the first time in modern American history, the economic prospects of young Americans are worse than that of their parents. In Congress, I will bring good-paying jobs to our community and prepare us for the future. There are numerous paths to success, and many, like trade skill careers, don't require a four-year degree. I will work to expand BOCES and CTE programs and create partnerships with unions and employers to increase the number of apprenticeship programs. Young people in the Hudson Valley deserve to build a good life here. They should not feel like they have to leave to find opportunity. I will lower costs and expand job opportunities so families can stay together in NY-17.

This is one of the top issues I hear about from voters on the trail. Working families are being priced out, and young people can’t afford to return to the communities they grew up in. In Congress, I will work to lower housing costs by making it easier to build affordable homes by getting rid of Trump’s illegal tariffs, cracking down on corporate landlords driving up prices, and reducing energy costs so families can afford not just to buy a home, but to stay in it. I will also introduce legislation to create a public service housing loan program for teachers, first responders, and nurses that models the VA loan program, so our public servants can afford to buy homes in the communities they are serving.

As someone who has been to combat, the last thing I ever want to see is more war. We have to reach negotiations for peace. While we cannot allow Iran to get a nuclear weapon, Trump’s war in Iran has been reckless, and I would vote in favor of a war powers resolution to bring an end to this conflict. This war is not making Americans any safer. In regard to Israel, I strongly support a two-state solution as the only viable long-term path to ensure Israel remains a secure, democratic Jewish state while Palestinians achieve legitimate aspirations for self-determination.

No. We must stop efforts by Donald Trump to take away citizenship from American citizens. The 14th Amendment clearly states that all persons born or naturalized in the United States are citizens. Our immigration system is broken. It should not take law-abiding neighbors 10-20 years to move through our process. We need to modernize and invest in our immigration system to make it efficient and humane, reducing backlogs, expanding legal pathways, and ensuring families are not kept waiting for decades to realize the American dream. And we must overhaul ICE to ensure it acts legally and in sync with American values.

As Chair of the Rockland County Environmental Committee and the Rockland County Task Force on Water Resources Management, I am already working tirelessly to combat the climate crisis. I passed the first countywide resolution opposing Project Maple, preserved hundreds of acres of open space, and funded and approved Rockland’s Climate Smart Communities Task Force. In Congress I will invest in clean energy, public transportation, and green job training to help us achieve net-zero emissions. I will provide funding for water treatment and sewage system upgrades to protect us from PFAS and toxic algal blooms. I will take on corporate polluters and hold them accountable for toxic dumping and water contamination.

Growing a vibrant economy for Rockland residents first requires undoing the damage Trump and Lawler have done, including repealing cost-raising tariffs and restoring the full SALT deduction. But we must go further by easing tax burdens on lower- and middle-class Rocklanders, which I have already done at the county level. I will improve and expand access to childcare and elder care, crack down on the utility companies hiking rates, fight corporate price-gouging, and cap out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs. These are commonsense actions that will make a tangible difference for Hudson Valley’s working families. We need a Congresswoman who not only recognizes the importance of affordability but has proven she can deliver.

As Vice Chair of the Rockland County Legislature’s first-ever Housing Committee, this is already a top priority. I helped launch an innovative housing loan program to create new opportunities rather than one-off deals for developers. I am spearheading projects that put affordable units next to struggling shopping centers, bringing both new housing and new life to our small business corridor. Across the country, private equity firms and corporate landlords are buying up housing stock, driving rents and starter home prices out of reach. Young families can’t buy their first home, and too many older Americans can’t afford to downsize or age in place with dignity. This moment calls for a member of Congress with a proven track record on housing.

Access to affordable housing is a top priority. To me, affordable housing is a bridge between raising a family and building wealth. NY-17 isn’t struggling with disinvestment; it’s struggling with access and cost barriers. High home prices and rents push out early-career professionals, single parents and essential workers. Long commutes to job centers reduce workforce participation and upward mobility. Also, women, especially caregivers, are disproportionately affected by housing instability, distance from childcare and jobs, and a lack of flexible living arrangements. The conflicts in Israel and Iran are diverting essential resources that could be allocated for critical domestic needs, nationally and here in our district. According to Brown University, as much as $34 billion was spent supporting Israel over the last two years, a number much larger than the current annual budgets of every county in NY-17, combined. Absolutely not. There is no sound legal basis to claim the 14th Amendment allows ending birthright citizenship for any child born in the U.S. In the United States v. Wong Kim Ark of 1898, the Supreme Court ruled that a child born in the U.S. is a citizen regardless of the parents’ immigration status (in this case, the parents were non-citizens and not eligible for naturalization). The Court adopted a broad, common-law understanding of birthright citizenship. While I am not an attorney, this case remains the controlling precedent today. The White House cannot override a constitutional provision or a Supreme Court ruling with an executive order.

We can begin by restoring the tax credits and subsidies for renewable energy and infrastructure that the Trump administration cut off. But we must do more. I support the Green New Deal to pursue environmental policies that work to save our planet, mobilize our economy, and secure our children's future.

Affordable housing is at the top of my list of priorities for NY-17.

Here in our district, too many people are being priced out of their neighborhoods or cannot afford to return to the communities where they grew up. Congress must appropriate federal funding to help drive up housing supply, and demand states and the federal government enforce the Fair Housing Act to drive down the costs - both economic and social - of housing development.
