Description of office: The General Assembly is the legislative branch of government in Pennsylvania. It is composed of two houses: the Senate is the upper house, and the House of Representatives is the lower house. A majority vote in both houses is necessary to pass a law. The PA House of Representatives consists of 203 members representing one district each, with an equal number of constituents. Representatives must be at least 21 years old, have been a citizen and a resident of the state four years and a resident of their respective districts one year before their election, and shall reside in their respective districts during their terms of service. The House develops budget packages, makes taxation decisions, allocates spending, and passes laws (including redistricting in collaboration with the Senate). The House also has the exclusive authority to impeach public officials. Representatives also serve on various policy committees that may propose legislation.Term: 2 yearsSalary: $113,591Vote for ONE.

What do you see as the most pressing issues facing residents of your district, and how would you address them?
Some of the more pressing issues facing residents of PA-92 include the need for: (1) Support for working families; (2) affordable healthcare, including reproductive; (3) Affordable housing; (4) Transparency in government; (5) Supporting Veterans; and (6) Protecting the environment, to name a few. Residents of York County have shared their concerns about these issues as well as others. I will address them by supporting initiatives that decrease costs, increase tax credits for families, strengthen access to healthcare including reproductive, continue funding PHARE/Act105, expanding opportunities for Veterans while honoring them, and preserving natural resources including water quality, and fighting against environmental injustices.
What changes, if any, would you support to enable better access, ensure security, and support the processes of our elections?
Evidence based resources indicate that elections in the United States are secure. Our election processes are already free, fair, transparent - results are announced publicly. This is due in great part to the many dedicated poll workers who devote their time to our electoral processes. To vote in Pennsylvania, you must meet voter registration requirements. Absentee/mail-in ballots help people who are impacted by travel or other issues that prevent them from being at a polling place on election day. I very much support initiatives that promote access for voters with disabilities. I do not support initiatives that create barriers for registered voters in Pennsylvania. Volunteer as a poll worker to see for yourself!
What are your thoughts on the state budget process? What changes, if any, would you support so that the budget is enacted in a timely manner?
Pennsylvanians should expect that the state budget is passed and enacted timely. Any delay that creates an impasse should result in lawmakers not getting paid. I would support this change. Additionally, I support retroactive pay for lawmakers not occurring when a late budget is finally passed. I, like other Pennsylvanians, expect the budget process to occur in a collaborative, transparent, and bipartisan manner, exercising fiscal responsibility, and without the finger pointing that has been observed with prior budgets. As a former CWOPA employee, I would have been disciplined for being unproductive and not meeting deadlines. There needs to be accountability for the lack of performance by lawmakers when they fail to meet deadlines!
Should the state legislature enact laws concerning the impacts on water, energy, or land use from the development and operation of data centers? Would state regulation of data center development and operation interfere with the authority of municipalities to establish ordinances under the MPC (Municipal Planning Code)?
Currently, there are no consistent statewide standards that require data centers to mitigate adverse impacts on the environment nor on the communities where data centers may be located. Proposed HB 2151 establishes standards for data center development and promotes responsible development including protecting health/wellness of nearby residents; proper siting/operations of such facilities; and supports sustainable economic development, etc. Municipalities should update their zoning and land use codes to address such facilities. In the absence of MPC ordinances that address data centers and their impact, HB 2151 will provide helpful protections. I support laws that protect people, communities, and the environment from negative impacts.
