Prior to her service in the U.S. House of Representatives, Beatty was senior vice president of outreach and engagement at The Ohio State University and a member of the Ohio House of Representatives for five terms.
What changes would you make, if any, to voting and elections policy?
I have championed the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act for years. This would help curb many barriers to participation for voters across the country. I have also opposed voter purges and limitations on absentee ballots.
How would you address concerns about the rising cost of living?
I think cost of living issues can be addressed by raising the minimum wage. Wages have not kept up with inflation and we need to make sure that the dollar goes farther for everyday Americans.
How would you reduce hyperpartisanship and promote civility?
I am a founding co-chair of the Congressional Civility Caucus. I believe strongly that the first priority of our legislative work should be the People, I believe that if that is the north star of our work, we should be able to work together.
State your position on foreign policy and national security.
I am committed to keeping our country and all Americans safe at home and abroad. In Congress, I will continue to advance the safety and security of our great nation, and at the same time make sure our brave men and women in uniform have the necessary tools and equipment at home and on the battlefield.
What changes would you make, if any, to immigration policy?
I believe we are a nation of immigrants and therefore support a direct path to citizenship for those who enter our country legally. I support the American Dream and Promise Act to provide Dreamers, who have known no other home besides the United States, and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) recipients a pathway to citizenship.

What changes would you make, if any, to voting and elections policy?
Hand count voter IDs. Eliminate mail in ballots, accept in certain cases, such as military sickness and disabilities; remove the machines. Proof of citizenship
How would you address concerns about the rising cost of living?
Eliminate property tax. The government needs to have their own way to retrieve income and not rely on the property taxes of the citizens. Stabilize the housing market.
How would you reduce hyperpartisanship and promote civility?
First, we're not each other's enemies. Quit the harsh animosity on both sides. Look for more common ground; that way, unity forms a greater America. Learn to be friends with the other side. Have common goals!
State your position on foreign policy and national security.
In the United States, citizens should be the priority of the government. Anything that affects the citizens in a negative way is never a good thing for us to have as a government agency. Our safety is our first priority. If they don't have a country, they should not be coming here, period!
What changes would you make, if any, to immigration policy?
We need to pause the immigration policy and have a better vetting situation for people coming to this country. They have to love this country if they want to come to this country. If they come here, they should have self-sufficiency to sustain themselves when they come to the United States. Not be reliant on the government to support them.
