ELECTIONS: What laws will you support to protect election integrity and secure accurate vote counts?

I believe that voting rights and free and fair elections are the cornerstone of a healthy democracy. That’s why I’ve supported legislation such as the For the People Act and John Lewis Voting Rights Act to expand voter access, strengthen oversight of voting systems and election technology, prevent voter suppression, promote transparency in election administration and reduce the influence of dark money in politics.

IMMIGRATION: Do you support current approaches to enforcing federal immigration laws? Why or why not?

I do not support the current administration’s approach to enforcing federal immigration laws. In Maryland and all over America, masked federal agents have been indiscriminately rounding up immigrants and regularly intimidating, arresting, harassing and kidnapping people in our streets. I remain committed to ending this reign of terror and forging a bipartisan path forward to rebuild our broken system and provide meaningful pathways to lawful immigration.

AFFORDABILITY: Many Marylanders are struggling to afford basic expenses such as housing, groceries, childcare, and healthcare. What will you do to make living in the United States more affordable?

The administration's billionaire tax cuts and cost-increasing tariffs have made life unaffordable for most Americans. That’s why I’m fighting hard to expand federal rental assistance and affordable housing programs, lower prescription drug costs and cap out-of-pocket health care expenses, reduce household costs through child care subsidies and family tax credits, raise the federal minimum wage and strengthen oversight of government spending to ensure taxpayer funds are used responsibly.

INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS: What do you see as the United States' role on the world stage?

In a world overrun by autocrats, kleptocrats, plutocrats and theocrats, the United States must be a beacon of strong democracy, freedom, justice, human rights and opportunity for all. That’s why I’m throwing everything I have into building a landslide victory for the party of democracy and freedom in 2026 and beyond.

SAFETY NET: How will you safeguard social safety net programs for the most vulnerable Marylanders?

I have proudly cosponsored the Social Security 2100 Act to protect and strengthen Social Security benefits, and I was pleased to vote for the Inflation Reduction Act, which empowers Medicare to negotiate with Big Pharma to lower prescription drug costs. I have also consistently defended nutrition assistance, and during last year’s government shutdown, I joined the MD delegation in urging the USDA to immediately release SNAP benefits during the funding lapse.

ELECTIONS: What laws will you support to protect election integrity and secure accurate vote counts?

I support making Election Day a federal holiday, requiring REAL ID for voter identification, and limiting mail-in voting to active-duty military overseas and citizens with documented disabilities. In-person voting with proper ID creates a verifiable transaction with full chain of custody. A federal holiday eliminates access barriers, reduces costs, and produces results Americans can trust on election night.

IMMIGRATION: Do you support current approaches to enforcing federal immigration laws? Why or why not?

We are in an immigration crisis. Unvetted individuals, including violent criminals, gang members, cartel operatives, and traffickers, have entered our country unlawfully and been given priority over citizens. I support halting immigration until we identify and remove dangerous individuals already here. I am pro-legal immigration but will support stricter vetting standards going forward to ensure we welcome non-violent, pro-American future citizens.

AFFORDABILITY: Many Marylanders are struggling to afford basic expenses such as housing, groceries, childcare, and healthcare. What will you do to make living in the United States more affordable?

As America grows more affordable, current leadership burdens Maryland families with high taxes and regulations. I’ll support cutting wasteful spending, slashing taxes and housing rules to lower property taxes so homes are affordable, achieve energy independence via domestic oil, gas, and nuclear to lower costs in groceries and childcare, and enforce healthcare price transparency for true market competition.

INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS: What do you see as the United States' role on the world stage?

America First embodies strength through leadership, not isolationism. I advocate demanding NATO allies fulfill their 2% defense spending commitments to ensure fair burden-sharing. We must pursue reciprocal trade deals that mirror partners' tariff rates, and achieve energy dominance to provide allies alternatives to Russian and Middle Eastern oil, thereby undermining hostile regimes. A thriving, self-reliant America stabilizes global order.

SAFETY NET: How will you safeguard social safety net programs for the most vulnerable Marylanders?

I will protect Social Security and Medicare. These are earned benefits. Facing depletion by 2033-203, I support raising the payroll tax cap, growth to expand workforce, and Medicare transparency and fraud prevention to extend solvency without cutting benefits. Restoring accountability and eliminating waste, safeguards safety nets for all, especially the vulnerable, to restore prosperity and trust in these vital programs.

ELECTIONS: What laws will you support to protect election integrity and secure accurate vote counts?

I will introduce legislation to financially support voter-verified paper audit trails in every jurisdiction in the US; provide additional support to implement best-practice, independent audit standards of vote counts using those paper ballots; and support same-day voter registration nationwide (not require it) as we have in Maryland. I strongly respect the states' role in elections as their constitutional responsibility, and believe the federal government can support in a constructive manner.

IMMIGRATION: Do you support current approaches to enforcing federal immigration laws? Why or why not?

No, I do not support the current federal approaches, and believe the federal government has broken laws, violated the Constitution, and flagrantly disobeyed court orders. The violence to our people, both residents and citizens, is also violence towards our principles of government. ICE should be disbanded, its culture is too contaminated, and federal enforcement should be established in a new agency committed to partnership with state and local governments, obeying the law and respecting people.

AFFORDABILITY: Many Marylanders are struggling to afford basic expenses such as housing, groceries, childcare, and healthcare. What will you do to make living in the United States more affordable?

I support free universal health care, like most civilized countries, and free early childhood education especially the Montessori method, with free childcare. I support federal assistance to transition agriculture to local and organic, lowering transportation prices and dramatically improving our children's health. I support 1% annual tax on wealth over $10 million, rising to 4% on wealth above $1 billion, raising significant revenue to fund public services. I support fair, stable rent control.

INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS: What do you see as the United States' role on the world stage?

The US should be supporting our core values that are the foundation of our country internally - equality of women and girls, education, free elections, reproductive health care for women, and otherwise centering empowerment of women in our assistance and positions in international organizations. War, and massive arms sales overseas, and military buildup is the opposite of civilization. We should focus on the building blocks of peace, and use climate change to inspire the world to work together.

SAFETY NET: How will you safeguard social safety net programs for the most vulnerable Marylanders?

Lowering federal taxes for the 99% of Americans, working class, poor, and middle class, by taxing the ultra-rich (see above); and reducing the military will allow the federal and Maryland programs to have the financial resources to provide the safety nets our people must have. We must emphasize mental health programs to avoid many conditions leading to crises; and removal of toxics from our air, food and water to promote pregnant women and children's health. Full funding for these programs now.
