I support election day registration because the right to vote is fundamental to our Democracy. If and when we are able pass election day registration we also need to provide our hard-working clerks and those responsible for administering our elections the resources and staffing needed to implement this change confidently and consistently. I am interested in removing barriers to civic participation but not burdening our municipalities with an unfunded mandate.
For several sessions now and as State Representative, I have championed the Green Future Act which would unlock $10 billion through carbon pricing for investments in state and local green infrastructure projects that fight the climate crisis. The League of Women Voters and Acadia Center submitted letters of support for this bill. It is imperative we invest in green infrastructure to strengthen our resiliency and improve the quality of life in communities throughout the Commonwealth. Another priority involves the bill filed, H.3694, An Act Relative to the Clean Heat Standard. I filed this legislation to ensure the Commonwealth moves a step closer toward meeting its emission reduction obligations outlined in the Global Warming Solutions Act.
As State Representative, I supported the largest housing investment in the Commonwealth’s history, which was signed into law in August 2024, and is a productive step forward in tackling the state’s current housing affordability crisis. This housing legislation authorizes $5.16B in bond authorizations and tax credits to spur housing production, add resources for new units, and make sweeping policy changes to simplify and incentivize development, while facilitating the preservation of public housing in Massachusetts.
I support the federal government doing its job. The policies at the border should be adjusted and the fed. gov't should manage the coordination of arriving migrants/asylum seekers entering the US and their onward travel in the US. MA can only adapt to federal border and immigration policy. The President and Congress must meet this moment and chart a path forward. MA is playing an out-sized role and that is unfair to our communities, taxpayers and our state budget. The fed gov't should coordinate via a concerted effort that includes all states and place arrivals in all US states in a coherent way. This would give states time to plan and cope with the surges of arrivals that they don't currently have now.
- Further incentivize the development of transit oriented housing.

- Support the completion of MBTA deferred maintenance projects so we can build confidence and ridership in our public transit system and get cars off the roads to reduce congestion and traffic.

- I will continue to hold the T accountable to implement the $118 million commitment I secured, as State Rep., for the renovation of the Mattapan High Speed Trolley Line and all of its stations. This is critical for Greater Boston.

- Support the expansion of light rail and commuter rail in Southeastern Massachusetts.

- Support the expansion of bus routes and more frequent bus service.
