In the current economy and tight labor market, it is a challenge to recruit and retain staff. Working with the Trial Court Human Resources Department, I have made efforts to build a diverse and talented workforce through community outreach. I encourage everyone who is seeking to improve our justice system to consider joining the Trial Court Team.
My priority is excellent customer service. My office serves a wide range of customers each day. This includes crime victims and their families, criminal defendants, family members of defendants, attorneys, members of law enforcement, the press as well as members of the general public. My office works to ensure that every person gets equal access to justice
I have extensive management experience. I am well versed in financial issues as well as matters pertaining to human resources. The Criminal Clerk's Office has 32 employees and a budget of more than $1.2 million. I have 17 years of experience overseeing the daily operations of the office. During this time frame I have worked to modernize record keeping practices and streamline office operations.
I would continue to prioritize the use of technology in the Massachusetts Trial Court. I am working with the Trial Court Information Technology Department to modernize our records keeping practices. Since 2018, nearly all Superior Court records have been kept in an electronic format. This enhances ease of access and transparency to the proceedings of the court. My office will participate in a pilot program of electronic filing of criminal pleadings. In sum, I would continue with the efforts to improve access to justice in the court system through technology.
