King George County: School Board - James Madison District (Special Election)Virginia county school board candidates must live in the district they wish to represent.School boards can consist of five, six, seven or nine members. They may be endorsed by a political party, but do not run as a member of a party.Board members serve staggered four-year terms and are elected in the general election in odd-number years. Virginia does not impose statewide term limits on school board members.To qualify for the ballot as a school board candidate in Virginia, a person must be:· 18 years of age or older· A citizen of the United States· A resident of Virginia for at least one year prior to the election· A current resident of the school districtThis year there is a Special Election for a position on the King George County School Board for the James Madison District because the incumbent was unable to complete the term. If you are not in the James Madison District, you will not vote in this race.U.S. House of Representative Candidates are also on your ballot.Please note that candidates may drop out of the race up until Election Day, November 8.Early Voting begins on September 23, 45 days prior to the General Election on November 8, 2022.
